I personally see nothing wrong with this.......

I think the western hemi should become one nation or union. besides the white immigrants, which I am decendant of, the western hemisphere had some of the most intelligant cultures when the europeans where still using dogs as pack animals. We developed science that made the rest of the world look like retards.... it wasn't until the europeans came over with thier infested blood that carried bugs did we become extinct..... but now our blood has become like grains of sand on the beach. I'm confused as to why you would put someone down for not being as blindly nationalistic as yourself?

I'd say a merger of sorts is inevitable in the long run, perhaps even globally... hopefully we'll be able to get a lot of shit straight by then, and not destroy ourselves in the process.

You do know you can be in a political and economic union without losing control of your borders or having a shared currency?

Look at the UK in the EU...

I'm not blindly Nationalistic, I just know the reason why the founding fathers of my country created it - to get away from the same people who are trying to take it back again.

Those people hardly have our best interests in mind but everyone just seems like they want to go with the flow in spite of it simply because they have no clue (just as the Germans didn't have any clue when the Nazi's began their rise to power.) I think people are just too complacent and are going to be doomed to relive something similar to the tragic part of what we saw back in the 1930's and 1940's. The same people on Wall St. and other financial/banking institutions or networks around the world who funded the Nazi's are funding something even more grotesque right at this very moment. Don't expect to read about it in the papers and don't expect to see it on television, though - because that would be contrary to what the Ministry of (dis)Information wants you to hear.

There are a lot of hypocrites on this forum. There's some people who claim they are great Americans and are patriots and think they are king shit. Then at the same time, they claim to support this Union while not realizing how much power shift its going to have. US is going to have to share power with Mexico and Canada, and more decision making will be passed to us and Mexicans. We Canadians will win in the long term, but our soverignity is f*cked. Pride will be hurt, but economically Canada has much more to gain, but politically Mexico has the most to gain as they'd love to have power that they will gain over us when this Union is formed. We will have less control over our own military, resources and decision-making on the global level. We will have to share ... which is really gay, because Canada has all the resources it will need for gazillion years, and it should be the other way around, US and Mexico should be our puppets, no offense, because US especially relies a LOT on our resources. But we are so lightly populated and weak politically ....

I read a comprehesive article on this couple years ago, not new news to me ;-) I am opposed to this Union. Canada doesnt need to be manipulated any futher, NAFTA has our arses already as it is.
