My air conditioner has been dead for a week now, it's been 90+ for two days. We are getting a new one tomorrow, but damn, I hear you. I'm sweating horribly.

I wouldn't turn it off. Keep it on the lowest setting, that way it won't have to work harder. that's if it's on a thermostat, though. Do you have a window unit, or central air?

window unit. i turn it off to save me money though. electric bill would kill me if i kept it on.

Ahh, yeah.. Keeping it on doesn't do anything either since it doesn't use a thermostat.

It's 90 in my house, and I am dying here. We have the bay breeze coming in, too.

....

On full-blast at the moment.
Lovely to keep out the sticky Bombay heat.

38c today. I'm feeling pretty comfortable.

Posted by jupiterone on Jun-28-2007 02:19:

Nothing worse than being stuck in a full autobody garage with no air-circulation humidity at 80% and the heat is 90 and having to paint.

I can't explain how good it felt to get in the shower late this night after work.
