There has been a small explosion at Spain's Ibiza airport after being evacuated

A small bomb exploded at Spain's Ibiza airport on Saturday, after it had been evacuated. The airport had been cleared after an anonymous telephoned bomb warning.

Spain's airport authority closed Ibiza airport on one of the country's favorite holiday islands due to a security alert, officials said Saturday. Media reports said there had been warnings to a Basque newspaper.

A spokeswoman for the AENA airport authority, which controls Spain's airports, said the airport had been closed to outgoing and incoming flights due to a security alert but would not say if it was a bomb alert.

According to APTN Internacional Agency three warnings had been received by Basque newspaper Gara.
