New Pioneer DJ Products
Has anyone had a play on the new Pioneer DJM 3000 Mixer? As far as I can tell its just a rack mount version of the ever-popular DJM 500/600, though I havent really had a chance to compare specs. So, if youve used one, what are they like? Heres a picky of the unit:

Also, pioneer have released details of a new CD player planned to be released in early July. Its called the DMP-555 Digital Media Player. It looks to be an offshoot of the CDJ-1000 with a whole load of extra features. Most importantly though, its the first DJ CD player that has the capability to play CDs of MP3s! Heres a picky of this one:

You can check it all out @ http://www.djsounds.com/djsounds.htm
I think that the DJM3000 is pretty nice. it's too big though, i don't need a 19" rackmount mixer. it has everything of the 600, and a few more effects. and it's cheaper.
but i have still decided against it.
as for the DMP-555. it's WAY to expensive, just for the ability to play mp3 CDs. i would rather have CDJ1000s, and just burn my mp3s to audio CDs to spin them.
man i just cant get into those cd djs...they take away the how manipulative effect of vinyl...but the idea of being able to fit all your vinyl onto one or two cds in mp3 format is pretty cool!
Like most manufacturer websites it didnt give any ideas as to pricing, so I couldnt tell you how much they cost! Ill just have to take your word for it
As for CD DJing dont get me wrong; I dont see it as a SUBSTITUTE to vinyl, just a SUPLIMENT. They are good for spinning tunes that are hard to get a hold of or indeed CD-R promos and the like.
I have a couple of cdr promo's and also burned a couple of cd's with tracks that i can't get nowhere anymore, main thing for me stays vinyl tho.
That new pioneer cd player looks f*ckin amazing,to bad i just bought a cdj100
can't have it all i guess....
The DJM-3000 is cheaper than the DJM-600. 123dj.com sells them for 899.0 where as the DJM-600 is 999.99
I am seriously thinking of replacing my Vestax 275 with the DJM-3000 so I'll let you know how I like.
