What software synth do I need to make a phat trance melody?
Maybe you're gonna laugh at me, but I have a question:
I've been trying to find out for ages what kind of (software) synth I need to make cool trance sounds. I have FruityLoops, but it's not really what I want.
When I hear tracks like 'Alex Bartlett - Amnesia (Shokk remix)', 'Frank trax - Nebuchan', 'Plasma - restricted area' etc. etc. I wonder what synth has been used to make that wonderfull phat sound!
I'm not talking about making basslines etc., but plain, simple, wonderfull phat trance melodies.....leads etc.
Please does someone know what I need for that and if there are some virtual synths which do what I want
(Like a virtual JP8000)
Thanx in advance
fm7 its a vst
yes the fm7 is a good vst synth... also check out vaz 2001. if you want to replicate jp8000 sounds why not use samples then. there are some nice ones at www.analoguesamples.com
Thanx for the info, but I need more
Look, you all know the track 'Rank 1 - Airwave'. I know they used a JP8000 to create those extremely phat strings.
So I wonder if those synths you mentioned (fm7 etc.) are capable of creating such a sound?
Let me know
you will probably come pretty close to creating the sounds of the jp8000 on an fm7 (haven't tried it and dont know) but again no synths sound alike, no matter what you try..
if you want SHOKK type sounds
then get vaz2001
thats what they use
And where can i get this ''vaz2001'' from?

Does anyone have this 'fm7' synth for me?
I already have the Vaz2001
I wish I wasn't so shit as making my own presets. I also wish Vaz had a huge online database, with loads of patches, etc.
i got the yamaha cs2x.... and it has some very good sounds, fat lead

I'm desparately looking for a warez copy of Andromeda A6 (I think it's by Alesis or something). I hear this is an amazing synth and I'd really like a copy.
Please PM me if you can hook me up.

| Originally posted by Verona^My I read a tutorial once at Sample City on how to create a Ferry Corsten type melody. Needless to say one could do this on ModPlugTracker. The actual sample used to create the melody was a long continuous beep of sorts. I created a melody once to test it out, it sucked but I sorta gather how it's done. |
