DJ Sammy is the Greatest DJ ever

Hey guys, I need your help.

I am trying to win the Brickfish Blog Essay Scholarship contest. I can't write painfully sappy BS like these girls can, but I can write horribly sarcastic BS, so I am gunning for the "Most Viral" prize. Basically, I need you guys to help me spread (ie spam Trance.nu) this blog to wherever possible. The more times people "vote" on my blog, the better my score becomes, the better my chances to win!

Here's my blog:
quote:
DJ Sammy is the greatest DJ on Earth. Period. DJ Sammys artist album, Heaven, proves that he should be on the top of the DJ Mag poll instead of those other blokes.

In Heaven, DJ Sammy has taken some of the best songs from the 80s and transformed them into club masterpieces. Every song is brimming with energy, energy thatll make you want to hear these songs over and over again! Not even The Beatles or Michael Jackson can come up with songs as amazing as these.

All of the songs on Heaven speak emotional volumes. Just listen to the Candlelight mix of Heaven. The emotion is literally oozing out of the song. I was driven to tears the first time I heard the song, its that good!

Just look at the beautiful poetry in these lyrics. These are the words of a true genius:

Baby you're all that I want,
when you're lying here in my arms.
I'm finding it hard to believe,
we're in Heaven.

(picture of Heaven cover)
(caption:Better than Thriller? I think so!)

The most important quality of a DJ is his ability to do the jesus pose. As you can see, DJ Sammy excels in this regard:
(picture of jesus pose)

A DJ must also be able to put his face on the cover of the album, since the best DJs in the world are the best looking (and the best dressed)! Both of these is true of DJ Sammy, as you can see on the cover of the Heaven album. A DJ also must sell lots and lots of CDs to be one of the best, and DJ Sammy has done that in spades. Sammy has sold over 1 million copies of his album! Anyone that sells one million copies of an album must be good, no, magnificent!

Need more proof? Just look at DJ Sammys inspiring music videos. In the video for Boys Of Summer, we see Sammy driving a very expensive automobile.
(screen cap from Boys Of Summer music vid)
Many would label this as a display of arrogance, but in truth the car holds a deep meaning. See, the car is a symbol of the American dream, where if we work hard enough, we too can drive in fancy cars when were not frolicking on the beach with a throng of barely clothed women. The car is the epitome of capitalism, i.e if you make buckets of money you too can own one of those fine examples of automotive excellence! Every person should strive to follow in DJ Sammys example, and be the best capitalists that they can be!

DJ Sammy is a producer of a form of Dance music called Trance. Some people believe that Trance music is supposed to be emotional, entrancing music. Those people are obviously wrong, and DJ Sammy is doing what he can to make sure that everyone knows the truth about Trance. Due to his success on MTV and other musical outlets, DJ Sammy has been able to educate the masses on the true meaning of Trance: Trance music isnt about long entrancing melodies or creating a mood, its about emo female vocals and PUTTING YOUR MOTHERFUCKING HANDS IN THE MOTHERFUCKING AIR! DJ Sammy doesnt make what other people think is Trance music, he makes real Trance music, Trance music that you should listen to.

So what are you waiting for? Walk, no, run on over to your nearest Wal-Mart and pick up a copy of Heaven. Youll be glad you did.

Just look at first place. I know we can blow this comp out of the water. TAs, UNITE!

PS: Brownie points to anyone that can point out all the "inside jokes" in my blog

I had a chuckle at a couple parts, but overall it felt a bit choppily written to me.

Still, I gave you a vote.. Good luck.

Also, should this be a c0r thread?

You won't win the competition because:

a) People who run this kind of shit have no sense of humour.

b) They probably have no idea who DJ Sammy is, or if they do, they may actually like his music. You're assuming that the judges are as into EDM as you are.

Any bets the winner will be an Iraqi woman blogging about her day to day life in a warzone will win, or some other boring, politically motivated shit like that, or perhaps a blog on how to cook good cheesecakes.

...that said, if you can get a whole forum behind you for voting, you may be a sure bet.

Good luck.

I'll give you a vote, no prob. But, if you really want to get votes nowadays, the way to do it seems to by making a facebook group called something like "My gf will have a threesome if i get 1,000,000 votes for my blog!" Booyah ftw.

I bet there would be more people agreeing with it than there would be people who detect the sarcasm.

Actually any Sammy track is better than Selu Vibra - Divine

Plus: His sets aren't even that bad (even when his mixing isn't always the best). Check his latest mix compilation "Balearic Masters": http://www.musicline.de/de/product/...///807297094824

Not to hijack the thread, but on a quick venting side-bar: it's really sad to see how having a big name means you can get anything released and get people to buy it. There are some decent tracks in that compilation, but neither the sequencing nor originality seem great at all. At least Oakey and PVD's compilations have a lot of up-and-coming artists and they put their own touch on a lot of the tracks. This compilation looks like the dude downloaded some beatport charts, dicked around in ableton for a few hours, and slapped a price tag on it. Way to do what anyone can.

Not bitter at all. I just think this kind of stuff is what gives EDM a bad name to those who don't know any better.

Many many thanks to Dojomaster26 for his blog entry. That made my day.

How is that a standard?

Posted by Dojomaster26 on Jul-04-2007 01:27:

I might have nightmares tonight of DJ Sammy mixing Selu Vibra - Divine with Filo & Peri - The Anthem... Thanks guys. Thanks a lot. I love you too...

DJChrisB: I know what you mean. All those DJs are doing is making sure that when they're forgotten, their mix CDs will be lying in the same bargain bin as "ULTRA MEGA TECHNO TRANCE ANTHEMS VOL 23! mixed by DJ Cucumber Slice (yes, there is a DJ from CA with that name:happy2"

Update on the contest: I can't enter the Blog Essay contest, but I did enter the "Who's your favorite rockstar" contest, on the same site. Same deal as before. I've got to do a bit of editing, namely add an answer to "if you met your favorite rock star, what questions whould you ask him/her?"

quote:

What would I ask DJ Sammy? The answer is obvious:

1. Why are you so awesome?
2. When is Heaven 2007 coming out?
3. Your competition is loud, electronic and ferocious and has the elementz of life. What are you going to do about it?
4. When are you going to team up with Crazy Frog?!?
