Love Poundin' Sensation Windmill Sessions 07 July (deep, melodic prog/trance)

Windmill Sessions 07 July

Another edition of the Windmill Sessions folks! Always enjoying putting together these mixes, a lot of thought goes into the structure and track selection, so I hope that shows through.
Its deep, melodic and dreamy. Get involved!!

Derek Howell-Potcakes
DP6-Laguna
Espen+Elusive-Stone
Fantastic 2-Other People (darioef remix)
Jay Lumen-Inner Tour
Michael+Levan-My Child In Pictures (snake sedrick remix)
Solesystem-Liana
Velvet Girl-Velvet (chiller twist indian summer remix)
Coalesced-Awakening (mango remix)
Moonbeam-Snowfall (riko's starfall remix)
The Last Atlant-In Leaps+Bounds (ryan crane remix)
Solus Town-Other Side
Matt Cerf-Cleawater w/ Solesystem-Limonade

Derek Howell-Potcakes
To open is some electronic fused with acoustic wizardy from Derek Howell. A chilled little ditty to kick things off.
DP6-Laguna
This is such a serene record. As the name suggests its beach-like in its atmosphere and full of natural, soothing sounds.
Espen+Elusive-Stone
The mix raises in pace slightly now while still keeping the depth of sound with this brilliant track. Great break, vocal snippets and crisp production skills in this.
Fantastic 2-Other People (darioef remix)
A beautiful melodius track which moves along at a dreamy pace to enthrall the listener!
Jay Lumen-Inner Tour
Deep, melodic progressive of the highest calibre here. Such a rich, evocative atmosphere in this too.
Michael+Levan-My Child In Pictures (snake sedrick remix)
The set descends into deeper, darker recesses with this chugging progger from the ever-reliable Snake Sedrick.
Solesystem-Liana
A continuation of the darker section of the mix now. This tune is punctuated by glorious breakdowns which really grab your attention and build the tension.
Velvet Girl-Velvet (chiller twist indian summer remix)
An older classic is unearthed next! A beautiful, repetitive melody and all-round epic feel will guarantee goosebumps..
Coalesced-Awakening (mango remix)
The mix begins to lighten as more melodies enter the play. This lush track features warm sweeps to carry you along, while the soundscapes wax and wane in perfect harmony. Its beautiful stuff.
Moonbeam-Snowfall (riko's starfall remix)
As the mix progresses towards its climax; bigger, more distinct melodies are utilised. This track in particular has a distinctive euphoric and melodic riff.
The Last Atlant-In Leaps+Bounds (ryan crane remix)
The tempo and pacing of the mix reaches its crescendo now, the listener being swept along by rolling basslines and thoughtful melodies.
Solus Town-Other Side
A real emotional high point as the mix shifts into lush breakbeat. A beautiful record stuffed full of epic provocative sounds to get fully immersed in.
Matt Cerf-Cleawater w/ Solesystem-Limonade
The sounds of Solus Town-Other Side slowly drift away to reveal the ambient introduction to the closing track. The massive massive melody stays in your mind in this one, an emotional and memorable ender. I used Limonade to ease the transition into Cleawater and to add layers to the outro.

Cheers for everyones support. Post your comments if you can guys, feedback is always good.
Nice one!

Sir! You know I'm getting this.

Thumbs up

This is simply brilliant! As always, well done. Thanks for introducing me to more mint tunes.

By the way, did you pitch this mix up a little? Seems just a tad faster than the previous sessions. That's not a complaint, either. Just an observation.

Good observation my man!
Indeed it is slightly faster at the start, the reason being that Derek Howell-Potcakes was 130bpm, when I slowed it down slightly I didnt like the sound of the guitar bassline at the start-so I used it at its original tempo and the subsequent tracks at around that tempo also.
My usual tempo for the start of my sets is 128bpm which gradually rises as the sets progress, to anything up to 133-135bpm at the end. Impressed u picked up on it as its only a subtle change really!

cheers for the feedback always mate!

Yeah, it's funny how you notice such "little" things. I guess I can only attribute it to spending time behind my own decks over the last year and a half and to being totally addicted to trance and progressive.

Tune of the mix for me this time:
Fantastic 2-Other People (darioef remix)

Also, I really like the blend from Derek Howell-Potcakes to DP6-Laguna!

loved your last two.. obviously i'm quite keen on this review a bit later

Thats my fave transition in this mix too, Laguna has an awesome bouncy bassline which really stands out when it drops!

Still enjoying this mix (and your others), mate. Just wanted to stress once again that Windmill Sessions are pure progressive quality. I'll give this a shameless bump for anyone that missed it before.
