I was really hoping he played Daft Punk's Around the world
not Technologic !
I only hung around until 2:45 but up to that point, I can't say I was really feeling his set. He seemed like he was playing as an opener (albeit I understand he's building up during his set). He was playing a Daft Punk remix and then an old 80's tune...can't remember the name off the top of my head as I was leaving..so I'm sure he picked it up. My friends said his second half was good.
Highlights of the night:
Running into Beto and the first words from his mouth are "Don't ever call me Squirrel"
While upstairs in the bathroom at the penthouse, a friend and I were at the pisser next to each other (before Sander had played) and a few guys that were clearly Sander fans walk in.
Me: Man, can you believe Sander cancelled again? (I hear groans from the guys in the back)
Mark: Seriously? You gotta be kidding. That's terrible. (Guys in the back are like "wtf, not again")
Me: Yea, apparently the windshield wipers on his plane weren't working so they couldn't land in the rain. Can you believe that shit? Don't they check wipers before takeoff?
Mark: They should man. That's bogus.

How were the "Winamp Plugin" DVDVJ visuals he is doing these days? LOL For all the hype he gets for playing with those things you would expect more. Just wondering if they are actually any good now.

The 80's tune Sander Played, was it Prince - Kiss (Rene Amesz Mix)?
It really is basically just a mixable version of the original song.

I was very impressed. Overall i was amazed by the crowd that was there in a Tuesday night. Granted the next day was a holiday, but I still did not foresee that crowd. I also very much enjoyed the music. It had a vibe to it that the whole crowd was feeling. I have not experienced something like that since back in the beginning of 2000. I actually was thinking about staying home that night, but when I showed up around 130 I was glad I did go.
Complaints:
The music was WAY WAY to loud. The speakers were actually distorting all over. I have heard people complain about the sound at vision, I have never felt it was too terrible. This time however it was really REALLY bad. And the penthouse... holy crap if you think the main room was bad, I don't even know how you can make the penthouse almost twice as loud. Please for god sakes- turn it down so it sounds clearer. I don't wanna hear a buzzing and popping all night.

It was our first time to Chicago, and our first time to Vision. The sound was quite distorted, although I really liked the layout of the club and the visuals.
One question though- it seemed like the crowd was very very young- almost all under 25 (especially females). Is it usually like this in Chicago? Any good places for the 25-35 year old category?
