Weird

you know how they say dogs can detect bad people? well after today, i completely buy it. before i never really gave it that much credit.

so i'm walking my dogs earlier today and this dude walks by me...just looks like some typical 19 year old kid...punk sorta. well my dog starts growling at him. my dog NEVER does this. he's not one of those dogs who yaps at everyone who walks by us. he usually doesn't even blink if someone walks by us, he's too busy sniffing the grass in la la land. so the fact that he growled kinda surprised me. i was embarrassed and told him to shut up and kept walking.

so like 20 minutes late after i walked them, i go to take the trash out and there's like 3 cops driving around my neighborhood, like they were looking for someone. i quickly went back in my house and then like another 10 minutes later i left to go to the store. when i walked outside to get in my car, the cops had that guy in handcuffs and there was some drama going on.

so yea, my dog totally knew he was a bad guy and i gave him a treat for it

my dog rules.

congrats

Heres the truth behind that story.

The guy was a panty raider. He liked to go around females house looking for dirty panties.

what happen was this guys pockets were full of used panties. which explains your dog's behavior. he also enjoys the smell. wtF.

Later that day the dude gets busted for this.

my dog does the same thing!!!!!

he turns his head really far away from you and looks at you from the cornerest corner of his eye and starts doing this high pitched growl. Then he snaps at your face.

except he does it to everyone and got listed at the vet as a biter and they use a little tiny muzzle on him now :\

your dogs suck. If anything, they should have caught his pants and dragged him all the way to the police station.

Animals always seem to like me a lot. I dunno why. I go to people's houses and they're always puzzled when pets who normally never wanna close to anyone come and sit in my lap.

i'm the same way i think animals can sense "pet people". i dunno if u have any pets, but i have my dog and then my mom has a dog and 2 cats. lol

but yea i've been at someone's house before and they were like, "oh don't mind the cat, she hates everyone" and within 10 minutes, she was sniffing me out and jumping up on my lap and they were like

I find that people who suck with pets, also suck with babies and children. Or maybe that's just my sister, lol.

That's very true. It must the sight of a friendly looking face that makes them feel at ease.

haha jennypie does your sister just look like a bitch?

Hard to say objectively, lol. To me she does!

When you're nervous or scared, you give out a bunch of signals. I'm guessing that's what dogs pick up. Someone who loves dogs and sees one is going to stay very calm, so the dogs will be friendly to them. Someone who doesn't like dogs or is scared of dogs will tense up when they see one, and that might alert them and make them feel threatened. The guy you crossed on the street must've been pretty tense if he knew he'd just commited a serious crime or was about to commit one.

Not true, I'm terrible with kids. But even the most savage animals adore me. Maybe it's all my body hair and lack of showering.

Posted by kadomony on Jul-04-2007 19:59:

its all about body language

Would they have any reason to?

Posted by Omega_M on Jul-04-2007 20:11:

the question is, whether they have the 6th sense to growl at thieves. According to this theory, they should.

That sounds like magical thinking to me.

Posted by Omega_M on Jul-04-2007 20:22:

parapsychology is hardly what you can call as "magical thinking". a lot of people are doing active research in this field and there are a number of peer-reviewed scientific journals dealing with this subject.

Posted by eRRaTiK on Jul-04-2007 20:23:

Humans have that ability too. Sometimes it's just not as sharp as with animals. I'm sure we've all sensed negative energy or bad intention, or met somebody at a party or somewhere and thought "they seem a bit... unnatural/weird/creepy" or on the flipside thought "they seem like an honest/great/sincere person".

The animal lover thing is true, and it's not because you love animals and/or kids specifically but because you project an energy that is full of love. The animals and kids naturally pick up on that positive energy.
