Would love to get some constructive criticism on this tune that my partner and I have been working on. It hasn't really been mixed/mastered or anything. Just want to see if we're on the right track.

First thing that hit me was the bassline. it completely overwhelms the kick, a track with a bassline like that should have a punchier kick imo. track sounds alright, though that synth at the end seems a bit too big, i'd layer a couple of pads and have a slightly lighter arp for it maybe.

In the first drop out of the percussion at 00:50 when you're introducing your first hook, there's something that's not working. It just sounds a little cheesy. I think there's a tambourine or something in the background that makes it that way. I like the piano. Your second buildup is much better than the first one. Best of luck. Peace, Agent
