Anybody Have A Problem Recording With Realtek HD Audio?

just bought a new computer and it came with realtek hd audio.the realtek hd audio controls in record mode have "Stereo mix" and "line volume" Greyed out.i cannot access them. ive been forced to record using the "record control". anybody have this problem and know how to get around it?it seems to be distorting my mixes using the record control option.

naw thats not it.thanks though.it seems to be a problem with realtek audio ive read a ton of complaints online from others with the same problem.looks like im going to have to buy a soundcard. i just wanted to see if i could avoid doing it.

you can try updating your driver. but no matter what, you will want a better soundcard/interface.

I have it in my notebook. I am not sure I understand your problem though. If you goto audio options then select Realtek HD Audio Input you can set the recording device.

Not that it matters. I gave up trying to record any mixes while I am away this summer with my notebook. You have to set the recording so low on the input and master out on the mixer or else it clips, plus it doesn't sound that great for some reason.

Anyone have a reccomendation for a good external sound card? Probably one that has the RCA unbalanced, Digital, and Balanced inputs? Since I think I am going to move from a DJM-400 to a DJM-800 to get the all digital capability.

problem solved. ive taken out realtek and installed soundblaster soundcard.

turns out realtek has taken out the stereo mix and line options on their newer soundcards put in computers as a cost measure or something.anyway, screw em.hope their factory blows up.

and i recommend the external soundcard by them vero youll get good quality audio out of it.
