Question going to toronto...

hay guys. i'm going to toronto in october, because i have just had a massive pwnage event in my life that really pwns. for details:

http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...08&forumid=8&s=

so, i wanted to ask, what's the weather like at mid-october? how cold should i expect it to get?

i've never been to canada, hell, for what it's worth, i've never left this country. (on my last trip i was 6).

any places in particular that i should not miss?

i also think i get to spin at a club, but more info on that later since i don't really know yet.

MIGHT help a bit.

Mid October is sweater weather....well USUALLY. You should bring a warm winter coat just in case it gets really cold. The weather we have been having lately has been just crazy.

http://www.toronto.ca/ is good as well.
Oh and AYYYAAAYYY congrats!

Oh and when it gets closer to your date of arrival you should check out the weather online to make sure what it should be doing outside. You seriously never know.

October is the month where we all prepare for winter assault.

Bring bacon or else you will not be admitted at the border

Posted by Lilith on Jul-10-2007 09:10:

And don't forget to load up on cheap drugs before you go back across the border!

omg, i'm gonna feel so stupid going winter clothes shopping over here. lol, buying a sweater in a country where december means you might sweat a LITTLE bit less than in summer.

We Toronto TAs would be happy to show you around town!

Good.

Don't fail me

Bring layers. You'll look like a dork wearing a winter coat in october. It can get pretty warm so you might need to take some off, and at times it gets colder (especially at night). Best thing to have for that time of year is two shirts and a sweater, hoodie, or light jacket that you can take off.

It's been unusually warm until last week or so, now temperatures are back to normal, which means 10-15c daytime and 5-10c at night. Expect a drop of 5 to 10 degrees by the end of the month.

As for the money, some places will accept it but with a change charge (for example 1.15$USD = 1$c).

Posted by RandomGirl on Oct-11-2007 18:58:

You have to exchange your crappy american money to canadian

Some places will take it, but to be easier for you, just get it exchanged. The money is pretty even right now.

Not to mention, you gotta see our kick ass cool looking money!

The weather has been VERY unusual. Really warm, and rainy, which is NOT NOT NOT normal October weather. I'm not complaining.

I would say you should still bring some sweaters, and a rain coat.

I wouldn't imagine you'll be wearing shorts, so don't plan on it being that warm. Looking at the forecast now, it is showing that the temp is going to be dropping in the next few days.

should be up in tdot on the 26th, jennay where are you already..holla

Posted by Inertia on Oct-11-2007 21:34:

ill be there from the 12th to the 27th. ill have... little free time. most of the time will be in a studio or something. out every night at an academy gig. technically, thats free time. i have to spin myself at one of the gigs, so it should be fun.

also... how do i go about changing money? i would deposit it in my card, but then i lose a little bit, due to them exchanging first from US to DOP when i deposit, then from DOP to CDN when i charge.

im broke, so my dad's lending me a wad of cash when i leave. can i exchange it at the airport or something? im such a n00b. haven't been outside my little island in many, many moons.

The most important thing you need to know about Toronto is that the Leafs suck.

There is a place to exchange money in the airport. I know Toronto Pearson has one for sure.

If you're looking for stuff to do, this is a cheap way to keep yourself occupied, and get some site seeing in:

http://www.citypass.com/city/toronto.html

"CityPass is valid for 9 days, which is a full week, with a weekend on each end

You can use the activities up anytime during the nine days, so whenever you have a fews hours to wander, you got a ticket to go somewhere. I personally think it's a good investment to prevent boredom.

dont exchange it at the airport unless you want to get raped with fees or a really bad exchange rate.
