Read This! Globe!!! Trance from Japan...^__^

Hi!! ^^
Well, Globe is a group formed in 1995 by three members... KEIKO (the vocalist), TK (Tetsuya Komuro, producer) and Marc Panther (rapper... )
They are a J-Pop (japanese pop) group. TK is a very smart producer... he can create a very romantic ballad....or a powered trance tune ^^. KEIKO is a female and a very cute one. Her voice is very nice and one of the best voices of Japan. Marc is the rapper and his voice is kinda annoying, but sometimes is the voice who puts the big touch on the song...

Here are some MP3s for AudioGalaxy users. I hope you enjoy them. =)

ive never heard of them, propably cuz im a foreigner? i dont get hooked up directly into the JP mainstream i just take whats really obviously good. but the release date is 4.10 in Japan for this new album right? i will definitely look for it. your sure its trance and not J-pop, correct? will ill let you know what i think, later.

errrrrr sorry if im wrong but to me GLOBE productions sound like eurodance?
care to comment on this one?

Posted by Raptor on Apr-16-2002 09:05:

which keiko are you talking about? i remember there was a girl name keiko that sang with ayumi before i think in 1 of her songs. not sure though but i know i have heard of this name keiko in jpop.

Mmmmm... a few precisions...

Globe is a JPop band and not a Trance band... So they do pop music and not Trance music... When I say pop music, I mean typical japanese pop music from the 90's... This is only my opinion, but I don't really like them... Don't like Keiko's voice as well, and don't like TK's music for this band, his work for Namie AMURO for instance is really better...

TK is one of the greatest producers in Japan, he takes care of artists like Namie AMURO, TRF, Globe, and a lot of others... He also is an author and compositor, who played for example with Jean Michel Jarre on July 14th 1998 under the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

As Trance music has more and more succes in Japan, he has decided to make trance music too... He remixes a lot of tracks under the name of Tatsumaki, especially on the trance compilation SongNation 2 Trance. But honestly, his Trance remixes are not as good as those made by our european DJs... According to me, the only japanese DJ who is able to make really good trance tunes is t-kimura, also known as Orbitribe!

Raptor> that's true, Keiko and Ayu sang together at the end of the year 2001 on a charity single called A Song is born. This charity single is part of a project of charity made by TK for the victims of September 11th...

Posted by Taishaku on Apr-16-2002 14:56:

nope...that's not true... -_-'

he's not Tatsumaki. Tatsumaki is the producer of MOVE... another group.
Well, Globe music is into trance since 2 years if i'm not wrong... I like all his material. Big fan here!!

Actually i'm more into japanese music than trance music. And yup, Keiko was the girl who sang with Ayumi. The song is called "A song is born".

There's a trance remix in AG that is really good too.

and for those of you seeking

Theres a Vincent de Moor mix of "Love Again" by Globe
and a Max Graham Mix of "Can't Stop Falling in Love"

Tetsuya Komura also did a track for the speed 2 soundtrack i think

Posted by Taishaku on Apr-18-2002 00:30:

thats right ^__^
they have a remix album called "Global Trance", where some famous remixers and producers are remixing some famous Globe songs. and yes!! Tetsuya Komuro has a track in the Speed 2 ost

Posted by Shito on Apr-18-2002 10:40:

Well I don't really like Global Trance either... These tracks don't have the power of european remixes, or even of japanese remixes from Ayu, ELT or move's tunes... According to me this is not Trance remixes, as Globe's works are not Trance tracks... These are some kind of electronic pop... Just to compare, listen to move's last album, with some good tunes like Venus in Paradise, Promised Land or Come Together... These are actually more Trance than Globe's tracks...

There are several dance groups in Japan...

Globe
Two-Mix
Favorite Blue
Every Little Thing
Move...

Dance music is pretty popular over there from what I gather.

hmm.. this is interesting. I really wanted to expand my horizons on global -trance- music a little. I am already excited what this will sound like. I cannot wait

Posted by Taishaku on May-13-2002 17:57:

Every Little Thing has a "Cyber TRANCE" album too!!! it's very well produced, and the best remix is the DuMonde one

i think there's a vinyl for every remix (like in ayu-trance projects)... you can check in http://www.jpophelp.com/

I disagree, they sound more like electronic pop. The only thing remotely euro about Globe is the rapper, but lots of other genres had rap too.

Globe is definitely not trance, that's for sure.

Move/ Two-Mix/ Every Little Thing/ Favorite Blue/ Ayumi Hamasaki are all various forms of dancey electronic pop, some sounding like throw backs to the 80's even.

If you want to hear geniune eurodance ala 94-96 era made nowadays, see Korea not Japan. Although some of Ayumi's stuff does seem a tad euroish, and I'm not talking about the remixes, just some tunes off of her LoveAppears album.

Anyhow, check out some stuff by

Uhm Jung Hwa

So euro it's scary

Posted by nyczliquid on May-15-2002 02:45:

i think uhm jung hwa's music is just pure korean electronic music...eurodance never sounded THAT bad.....

uhn jung hwa and koyotae both have that distinctive korean sound....oh god its so bad...haha
