anybody watch the previews that played before transformers?
...
there was a preview of a movie with no title...
it started off with people getting ready for a party...
all of a sudden, crazy/destructive shit started happenning...
next thing you see is the ripped off head of the statue of liberty being thrown against the side of the building...
what the fuck movie was that????
btw... Transformers was pretty good...
little corny at parts... but definately worth the watch!
i enjoyed "the notebook" much more though
i didnt see it at the advance screening but ive heard about it
looks intersting.
cloverfield is code name for the movie. Wiki it up.
the name of the movie is WHAT IN THE FUCK
if it growls like Godzilla, it must be. Just a wild guess, but I am sure its something off beat in the lost tradition.
Which preview did I see recently that started with Las Vegas totally covered with sand?
That looked sick!
i saw transformers yesterday and i knew even before i opened up this thread it would be about that preview lol.

There's a bunch of rumors going around about that movie. The most prominent is that it's about H.P. Lovecraft's monster Cthulu. But no one is saying anything. There's a few websites that people think have to do with the movie www.ethanhasswasright.com and some blog site that's connected to that one, but J.J. Abrams did an interview saying they weren't his. The only one that is from the movie is www.1-18-08.com

the end of the preview says "Bad Robot" ... looks cray cray
i just watched some of the trailor analysis videos on youtube.. man people are nuts lol
Here's a pretty good analysis of the trailer from a dork writer (not me):
I'm a freelance journalist. This is probably the most coolest marketing ploy I've ever seen. I'm also a huge monster movie fan. Many Saturdays spent watching Creature Double Feature as a kid.
Godzilla has been done. The last one didn't do very well in the theateres. Don't think Paramount would take the risk.
I've solved the puzzles too, and done a lot of research since I saw the trailer last weekend. By deductive resoning I cast my vote for Cthulu. A creature steeped in mystery, ambiguity and arcane references. Also the name of the leader of The Order of Dagon, a parallel of Christianity but in a Satanic way, the demon god of the Sea.
Lovecraft's original story "Call of Cthulu" was short,(reads like a documentary) leaving plenty of room for embelishment. Cthulu has a huge cult following "Cthulu Mythos in Popular Culture." From games to toys to music (mentioned in lyrics by Metallica, Iron Maiden) since the story was published in 1928. Hampshire College in Mass. has a traditional even every May "Cthulu Night". A Cthulu cult that Some say Cthulu is synonymous for "extreme horror, evil, abject terror". Everyone from The Superfriends to Norse gods have battled him.
The creature is described as huge, part cephalopod part dragon (has a race of followers that look like it, think of Pirate's Davy Jones or Preditor). The major parts of the trailer include lots of fire, and the ominous head of the Statue of Liberty. Ellis Island is in the ocean and the head flys inland, whatever did it comes from the ocean. Also lot of ambiguity and references about Japan, the character is going to Japan, theres sushi at the party by one of his friends who appears to be of Japanese decent, lending credit to Godzilla, a misdirection.
In the Lovecraft story Cthulu is said to be imprisoned by giant statues (thus the attack in the Statue of Liberty) in the sunken city of R'lyeh in the South Pacific Ocean. It's alien, ancient followers, mystical symbols and languages (puzzles) Research Cthulu Mythos in Popular Culture and you'll see it all. Going to be a really cool movie. Hopefully it's rated R to do it justice, because the mythos is not kid's stuff. If done right this could be the rebirth of the Classic Monster Movie genre.
"That is not dead which can eternal lie.
And with strange aeons even death may die."
lol i been searching nonstop!
you guys gotta try this website out.. even though people are saying the director says there are no ties to the movie on the website
www.ethanhaaswasright.com
creeeeeeeeepy
haha
i really hope it is cthulu!
If you scroll over the star on the top right it gives a code. Which depicts the alphabet. I'm glad I'm bored at work because this is getting my imagination going!
And if you click on the orb with the symbols it gives you a pattern of symbols which probably spells out something. But I cant tell what symbols are on the orb. It is a 7 letter word and the last letter is "C"
that 2nd one took me a while to figure out
if u want pm me and i can help you out with it lol
the 3rd one is taking me forever too
