creative multi channel sound card?
i want to be able to use my external mixer with Traktor 3...sumone reccomended that i get a multi channel sound card to do the job.
i already have a sound card but dont know if its a multi channel or not
so i go to traktor, preferences, audio setup and select output routing
i select external mode (im assuming thats to setup my external mixer with traktor)
and this is what pops up
out channel A Left mono: 1 HD Realtek audio output
out channel A Right: 2 HD Realtek audio output
out channel B Left mono: 3 HD Realtek audio output
out channel B Right: 4 HD Realtek audio output
does this mean i have a multi channel sound card?
what will the "Input routing" page of traktor preference look like? do i even need to play around with it?
and will this above setup, with an external mixer allow me to "monitor" the decks on my headphones?
DOes creative make multi channel sound cards?
is creative sound blaster 5.1 a multi channel sound card?
if not, can you guys please post pictures or give me links to what the cheapest multi channel sound card looks like?
stepping out to buy a card rite now, need your assistance...please help...thank you in advance guys...would appreciate the help!
m-audio 24/96 is a cheapest multi out soundcard, or else go with m-audio delta 44, you can also get a Maya 44USB they are all multiple out cards.
For professional results stay far away from creative, and go with something like m-audio, or Maya, or echo line of cards.
The more money you spend the better the card you get.

I have the M-Audio Firewire 410 and I love it.

hey guys
yea the realtek one on my board is a multi channel...i just hooked it up with my external mixer and works fine
besides, i also purchased a creative SB Live 5.1 with a buddy of mine...
anyways guys one more question...i was reading the traktor tutorial...the stuff about beat gridding and stuff...it asks me to identify the first beat of the track and mark it a GRID cue point...once i do that it asks me (as in the instruction in the tutorial) to listen to the whole track and make sure that gridding has been done fine...and in the case it hasn't i should enable the "TICKS" option in traktor so i can listen to the ticks on my headphones with the music coming out of the main speakers...unfortuantely, i hear the music on my headphones and no ticks...im assuming i should be hearing music on my speakers and ticks on my headphones and then make the neccessary adjustments...but no ticks on the headphones, only music...any suggestions as to why this is happening?
secondly, as i go along the track, i notice that a minute or two down the track, the beat gridding is not accurate...its fine for the first minute or so, but then the BEAT MARKS or those big lines dont fall on the actual beat anymore...i tried adjusting them as tutorial suggested, by moving them so that those lines align with the beats, but if i fix one portion of the track, the other portion becomes inaccurate...any suggestions on how i can do perfect beat gridding?
or any link to other tutorials or resources would help...thank you!
cheers guys
