"VICTORIAN Premier Steve Bracks's son Nick faces drink driving charges after a car crash.

Nick Bracks speared a black Saab into a tree in Willamstown about 4am, injuring a passenger.

He was taken back to Altona police station and recorded a blood alcohol reading of .12.

"He almost blew the machine off,'' one source said .

The car was ruined in the crash.

The Premier's son careered through a traffic island at the corner of Melbourne and Hoskings roads and into a tree.

He is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving and other offences."
