TOTA Restaurant Recommendations

If theres a thread like this already, shoot me - or call me an asshole. Couldn't find anything in a search.

I'll start:

ASIA REPUBLIK (Located on Bloor, just west of Spadina)

http://www.asiarepublik.com/index.html

Rediculously good food, and super cheap.

Quite possibly the best soup in the world (Hot and Sour, holy fuck). I could make a meal with just that soup, and their incredible fresh rolls.

My mouth is watering as I type.....

Foxley. 207 Ossington (just south of Dundas).

Spectacular food, not too pricey (i.e. dinner for two, $75-$100, including a bottle of wine).

Umar found this one. And the man knows his food.

There is probably a thread like this...but who cares

Forget About It - 235 King St W(at John St.)
http://www.forgetaboutitsupperclub.ca/

Great food, good price! Dinner for 2 including appetizer, main course, dessert and wine - about $130-$150

Queen Mother Cafe
http://www.queenmothercafe.ca/
(their Pad Thai is yummilicious)

Kit Kat Bar & Grill
http://kitkattoronto.com/
(very cozy environment)

my ghetto pick.....

FALEY RESTAURANT (Indian Hakka Chinese Food)

http://www.ontario-restaurants.com/...-etobicoke.html

Go for the Faley's Special Chicken (dry - no sauce), with steamed rice.

Or the spicier choice - Chili Beef (dry) with steamed or fried rice.

Both choices only $4.99 for lunch, $6.99 for dinner.

McDONALD'S (fast food)

All over Toronto

Double Cheeseburger Meal - burger, med fries, a pop - $3.99
(delicious and cheap)

My mouth too is watering as I type... I'm hungry now!

Its in North York so a bit far for most of you but a great place for lunch or dinner if youre ever in the area.

Sarah's (Lebanese)
Brunswick & Bloor, west of Brunswick on the south side. Right beside Future's Bakery.

Best Shawarma & Falafel in the city. Get the combination Shawarma & Falafel sandwich.

This is my favourite take-out place in the city. I used to eat here almost every day when I went to U of T downtown.

I hate that place! way too many peanuts!

1) Apache Burger for great 'fast food' (burgers, fries, rings, etc.);
2) La Castile for elegant dining ($$$)

Vena's Restaurant. Hands down the best roti in town!!!

1263 Bloor St. West (Lansdowne and Bloor)
(416) 532-3665

I just love my Caribbean/West Indian cuisine.

Just a recommendation for people naming restaurants and prices...also list the type of food they sell and perhaps what you had. That way people will get a better idea of if they'd like to try it.

Bymark -
http://www.bymarkdowntown.com/

A little expensive, but honestly the best steak I have ever had.

16 oz. Bone In Filet Mignon, medium rare - perfect

Another great old style steak place is Barbarians on Elm Street.

Cheap chineese food, but really good.

Szechwan Chung King Restaurant 428 Spadina, 416-593-0101

Do not go there for the atmosphere and get use to the smell of moth balls in the washroom.

Another great cheap meal is Messini on the Danforth for authenic gyros

http://www.messini.ca/home.php

There is also a great dive on Gerrard for Pho which is really cheap (meal for 2 with drinks $20). Not sure of the name (starts with an X), but it is on the south side just east of Broadview and has a train in the name or outline on the window.

But how much of that 1,900km is in TO though?

(yes, enough, I know, that saying "Yonge in TO" still is retardedly vague )
