Inspired by some posts in the random talking thread, post your favorite jazz artists!
Mine are the obvious ones (Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk). Favorite modern day jazz bands/musicians are Medeski Martin & Wood, John Scofield, Pat Metheny, and Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey.
If you haven't listened much to jazz before give it a try, its great music to relax to and also good to get your girl in the mood

it isnt jazz but uses its elements in edm quite flawlessly imo. Also see Cobblestone Jazz for techy beats with jazzy influences at times...im in love with Put The Lime In The Coconut.
