Wintergalactic Refund Problem!!!!!

I went to get my Wintergalactic refund for 3 tickets today at Eastern Bloc, however I only received a full refund for one ticket, and $14 for another, and nothing for the 3rd.
You might be asking why? Because E.Bloc doesn't have anymore refund money, because ANDRE hasn't paid his dues, he still owes Eastern Bloc $580, and I'm guessing he hasn't paid any other ticket outlets either. This just pisses me off, we come out to support sonic state, and we get robbed in return? Fucking BS!

Nick, I respect the fact that you have returned your share of the money to the outlets, but can you get a hold of your ex-partner and tell him to get his shit together, so that myself and other people can get their refunds?
Or at least shed some light on the issue?
Will he ever be refunding the money?

Has anyone else ecountered the same problem???

Posted by Kid_Lax on Apr-16-2002 17:57:

amber (from numb) posted a similar message on TR and probably other boards saying that they don't have any more refund money and it is not numbs fault but the promoters for not supplying enough

Posted by OrZonE on Apr-16-2002 21:23:

This party just keeps on going and going and going and going....
Im glad that I didn't buy my tickets.

Posted by brunette on Apr-16-2002 21:36:

I went to Release yesterday to get my refund and the guy said that he didn't receive the money yet, but he gave me the refund anyways because I was there some 2 weeks ago when it was snowing like crazy, and I ran in all wet with smudged make-up

Posted by Evmac on Apr-17-2002 00:51:

well is everybody returning tickets where they bought them?
if not that is the problem because promotors are not allowed to pick up cash from the ticket outlet until after the day of the event.

People are just going everywhere to get the refunds... thats why there isnt any more refund money at places...

I AM NOT DEFENDING SS... EVERYBODY SHOULD GET THEIR MONEY BACK BUT I GUESS U JUST NEED TO CHECK PUT OTHER TICKET OUTLETS. IT SUCKS BUT WHAT CAN U DO?

You have NO CHOICE but to go to the location where you bought your tickets, they check ticket numbers in order to prevent shortages of cash. This is done in an organized fashion, you cant just go anywhere!

There is no money left because Andre for some reason hasnt given his half of the money back to the stores. I saw all the legal papers/documents stating who owed what to the store and in what amount. Andre is the one to blame for the shortage of cash and no one else.

Guess they were allowed to pick up cash from the outlet b4 the event...
cuz I couldn't get my tix refunded at Release this afternoon where they check ticket number to make sure that I bought there.
and the guy said that they didn't fully recieved the amount of money that SS took.

damn... I want my money back
Ahhhh~~~

This sucks. I have five tickets (I had bought for some friends) that I got from Eastern Bloc. I better not get screwed on this or I'll be really pissed. Andre, Nick, please sort this out ASAP.

Posted by ed on Apr-17-2002 13:43:

I've been screwed by promotors before, so here's a moral to this story.

1- buy @ ticketmaster/admission, sometimes the additional cash is worth it.

2- buy with a credit card (tripledecks.com) you have a the security of purchasing with a credit card.

3- maybe ticket outlets should hold on to the cash till after the party (its no different than people buying tickets at the door) (sure that's not in the promotors interests, but why should we care?)

oh and 4- dont trust huuge parties unless the promotors have a previous huuge party reputation.. last time I got screwed was for the Cool World , 'A Great Adventure' party, I dont know if any of you remember (but US promotors were trying to get something going south of Montreal), it was marketed throughout Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto.

Posted by Evmac on Apr-17-2002 18:34:

thats really weird how they got the cash before the event... the stores shouldnt let them do that... i guess it was all about trust.

Posted by Jazz on Apr-17-2002 22:37:

promoters usually take the cash from advance ticket sales before the event happens so they have the cash to cover expenses..

It's quite simple really, money was taken from the ticket outlets under the direction of nick, and despite my utter and outright refusal of the action. The form that is at the stores was signed by nick, not me. i never agreed to cover money that was taken without my permission. Why should I? If you haven't recieved your cash for your refund I am sorry. I wish there was something i coul do right now, unfortunately i don't have the luxury of borrowing money from family to cover my debts.

I won't be replacing the money any time soon, there is no reason for me to. I adamantly refused this action, yet it was done anyway. I will contact the ticket outlets next week and try and work something out. Wintergalactic will happen next year, perhaps your ticket still being valid for next years event is a possibility? I'm not sure if I should be even doing that, as that would put me out money as well. But, I understand how you all must feel right now and I will do my best to make it up to you.

Understand, this is not my problem. I said NO. Period. And regardless of my wishes the money was removed. I cannot and will not take responsibility for this on a monetary level. Hopefully I can take care of all of you by offerring validity to the next event and I sincerely hope you all accept this. I'm not made of money, and I can't accept responsibility for someone else's stupidity.

email me at [email protected] for any questions to me directly.

sorry about the confusion. I hope the drama ends soon.

peace,

spaceman

What debts??
Even if the ticket sales cash was removed from the outlets, it should not have been used, especially if either of you had doubts about the event happening, and according to Nick you guys had doubts. If you did use the money then, yes, you should be responsible for your own stupidity.

The fact of the matter is the money belongs to US, the ticket holders, not Sonic State, and it should be rightly returned to us. Using our tickets to get into the next Wintergalactic is not a satisfactory solution. No offense but even if Wintergalactic happened next year, do you honestly think that after all this drama, that anyone will come out to support you guys? More importantly do you think any DJ's will be willing to work with you guys?

An irreparable trust has been broken here!

In otherwords I want MY money back!!!

KarateKid waiting ...

sometimes it's a lot better to pay the extra cash but gettin ur tix at a later time .. atleast u'll have a better idea if the party is actually gonna happen or not ..

dayumz, this is ruff, i really feel bad for all u guys who feel jacked rite now .. maybe y'all should get together, hire some legal counsel and see what can be done about it .. you might be able to recover atleast a partial amount back ..

best of luck .. :\

Okay, this is what I think -- that big apology letter that Andre or whatever his name was posted not too long ago about how we'll get our money back along with free admission to the next party and a WG'02 was totally bullshitting us. He said we can only get refunds starting April 15 and when that day came, no refunds were possible. Let's see, April 15 and this guy is no where to be found. Seems like he gave a bogus refund date so he'd have enough time to get away. Okay, maybe I'm totally wrong in assuming this, but I'm sorry, I smell a rat. We've been ripped off and we're never going to get our money back. I heard that one ticket outlet tried calling Andre but his number was disconnected. You know, this situation is really going to make me think twice about spending a lot of money on a huge event. I really hope WEMF happens for sure without difficulty or problems this year and people don't end up losing their money....again!!!

Andre, what the hell are you talking about??? If you didn't agree with taking the money, then why did you use your portion of it?? If you used it, then you come up with the money. If you didn't use it, then return it. This IS YOUR responsibility.

Frankly, I'm losing my patience with this. I bought five tickets early to support you guys, now I'm getting screwed. The outlet I bought from says Nick returned his portion of the money. If you don't return your portion of the money within the next week, I'm going to consider calling the police for an investigation into this event. Don't push me. Let me make it clear that I also have enought lawyer friends that sueing your ass on behalf of all TA's with tickets will also be no problem. Take this as you wish.

Behold the fury of Arcticboy.

Posted by itikia on Apr-20-2002 22:22:

Sorry to break it to you Arcticboy, but Sonic State no longer exists.. Its bankrupt, gone. No matter what you do legally you won't get shit.. Why do you think people were freaking over the ENRON scandle? Once they file bankruptcy it all over, people literally lose there pants...

Its all up to Andre/Nick and if they feel like giving you guys a refund..

Believe me everyone got the shaft, not just you...
