Dance Valley Vs Summerdayze

ahoy!
Anyone from Aus hit dance valley this year?

i flew over from london again this year, and let me tell you it was as good as last year. if not better.

Armin closed mainstage last year, this year Paul van Dyk and Ferry Corsten.

Been to some major parties all round euro, and so far nothing really compares...stage production is second to none, atmosphere of 20,000+ people at the mainstage for fireworks, explosions, streamers, connfettie, you name it..anything you can fire into a crowd really... and Pvd. not to mentioned a ridicously loud and quality sound system.
..and Not only is there a massive amount of people, but people actually go for the music and the artists, not because its cool.

Im glad mark james was there this year, because if he could put anything on half as good as that, which i presume he can.. then melbourne is in for a real treat, not to mention a rude awakening on just how far behind we are on major dance parties/festivals and events.

Our only comparison is Summerdayze,
and Unfortunatly - i hate to say it, but dance valley kinda makes summerdayze look like a joke.

..but horses for corses.

any thoughts?

I don't see how Summerdayze is a comparison at all...
different kinda music; different sport.

its open air, its music and its top world class djs.
Armin even played summerdayze 2 years ago!

Same ingredients! shouldnt matter what type of music..

My best party of all time was Nature One in Germany. The venue is an old American air force base. There are dance floors inside the numerous jet bunkers, dance floors on top of the bunkers, a huge circus tent, and many open air areas. 20 dance floors and 300 DJs each year. The year I went was 2004. You name em, they played. Best part of all, it wasn't a fashion parade like at summerdayz, and the girls are approachable to say hello (plus 10xhotter than melb girls).

If parties in Australia were anywhere near as good as Europe then none of you would travel over there with butterflies in your tummy now would you?

There are so many differences between the two continents to consider before you even start comparing their parties.

Dont go overseas and start crapping all over your home town, that just isnt cool.

trance nutter went to DV his email was too long and made me emo to read it all the way through and besides he forgot to check out benjamin bates

European events are a million times better than australian ones because they can draw in the biggest names all at once. Also look at all the stages they can have and money seems to be of endless supply

atmosphere also shits on most of the australian events

Nah i meant i will be in London regularly for the next month or so, so will have time to go out.

The biggest difference for me is the crowd, they are a hell of alot more mature at events like DV than at events held at the bowl.

Australians are trashbags at these big events like summadayze and FMF and it does get tiresome, although i have to admit in my misguided youth i may have contributed to it

...you doing the weekender for global and who are you going with...has buzzer been to any of these gigs with you Brenden?

Thats one of the main points...

The crowd really change the whole enviroment. its not a trash fest. most of the crowd is in their 30s!

charlee haha come on - take it easy... I aint crapping on my home town, im just saying we're behind. its a fact. there are many reasons and many arguments why. which im sure are all valid.. but we are behind. wether we like it or not!

but as you said, i guess thats why it makes hitting euro events so much more exciting.. you expect more, and you get much much more..

I'm been lucky enoug to travel and party quite a bit overseas and you can stack them all up as high as you like against one particular party and still nothing comes close...

YES we are BEHIND & deprived of so many good acts because we are so far away & dont have that many, apart from a couple of entertainment groups bringing big names & upcoming names to our shores, who can AFFORD to pay these dj's & put on awesome rocking parties!

Its easier said than done, even though Melb may not cater to such big festivals like that overseas, we still offer 'some' good quality parties here & do get to see 'some' quality internationals here!

I LOVE MELBOURNE with all my heart lol but I CANNOT wait to finish Uni & experience life, culture & the parties over there......

Have fun at Global Gathering, wish I was there too.

I agree that parties or not you should travel the world and experiece as many new things as possible. Australia will never be Europe and vice versa so just enjoy both for what they are.

I don't understand the deprived and behind bit sorry, but maybe that only applies to Trance.

That's hardly behind and deprived imo.

Compared to other countries, faken right deprived....and half the djs only come once a blue moon anyway.

We need Chus and Ceballos, Vibe, Victor Calderone, Demi, Peter Bailey, Tedd Patterson, Hector Romero, Umek, Valentino Kanzyani, DJ Preach.......just to name a few...then i'll be happy!

Geez you don't ask for much!

PS. Demi was here 2 years ago and about 20 people showed up to Ffour...
