nu-rave genre
I know the name is terrible-- but is anyone else digging this stuff?
This is the first time I hear of this. What is it?
it's sort of a fusion of electronic, especially electro, with pop, punk, and indie. IMO it's really fun music for ppl that don't take life too seriously.
a few tracks that are commonly used in nu rave mixes that I like are:
the black ghosts - face (switch remix)
yelle - cause des garcons (sta remix)
riot in belgium - la musique
I'm not sure how often these tracks and others are used outside of nu rave parties and mixes.. b/c I haven't been really going out to hear much else.
listened to those tracks...sounds like electro...but kinda funkier, its electro that i actually like
i listened to the tracks, pretty cool stuff, although its nothing new or innovative away from normal house music, seems like a pointless sub-genre to me, keep it simple, theres only maybe 5-6 REAL subgenres of house, all the others are just fluff.

To clear up any misunderstandings, I'd suck Cro's cock just to brag that I did.

So the truth comes out
Nu-Rave has several sub-genres to it already...well, from my perspective.
There's the whole french/ed banger records thing happening with guys like Justice, Busy P, Sebastian, Para One, Kavinsky, Kissy Sell Out/etc...(I'd throw MSTRKRFT & Tommie Sunshine into that mix as well).
Then you got that glitchy funk kinda stuff comin' from Switch, Sinden, Trevor Loveys, Jesse Rose & Claude Von Stroke.
And on top of that there are plenty of live acts comin' out that could fall under the genre such as The Klaxons, The Editors, Hellogoodbye/etc.

Been liking this stuff for a while now. And also, lately been digging some electro inspired rock bands... like Dune. <3
Tommy Sunshine is nu-rave now?
First time I saw him was like, 2 or 3 years ago at Pride Ball @ Aria in the loft - he looked like Jesus, and would of simply called it electro
Saw him @ Boa also, it is fun 'party' music, but just electro / fun / doesnt take itself too seriously, I fail to see what is so "new" or "nu" about it.
