Yeah, I've spent the last 2 nights up to 3am picking through this crap and I'm just about to the point of screaming, so I'm going to sleaze up to one of the accountants at work to help figure it out.
I sold all my shares earlier in the year and it's made it kind of complicated.

Posted by Fledz on Jul-18-2007 03:09:

Fuck I love tax returns.

I was expecting $1500 but apparently they have changed the law so I'm getting around $3000 back. w00tcore, trip to Europe paid for

haha I wish I was getting that much this year.
Last year got over 1k, spent it in 3 days. not good lol

Posted by Domesticated on Jul-18-2007 06:20:

I only ever get like $6 back.

Damn full-time work.

I used to love getting a big fat return when I worked part-time with really irregular shifts.

*** I'm pretty sure I read somewhere a while back that to do this you would need your own ABN number and have yourself set up as a business.

First time for me this year that I have fastidiously kept receipts for anything and everything that I thought I might be able to claim. Got the ol' group certificate today so it's off to the accountant to see what he can do for me ...... la la la

You work in taxation, you don't have a heart, the double whammy is that being a public servant also means you don't have a brain either

no no no, i meant i was a slumlord like you. i ditched maths after year 12

actually, being a public servant means i have a much bigger brain, coz i know how to get paid lots without doing much.

keep paying your taxes honey, i've asked the ATO that my salary comes directly out of your tax
