Pioneer DJM-500
I know this is a great mixer but is it suitable for a beginner DJ?
And...........what's the avg used price on this?
A new one will cost me almost 1G.............
Thanks
why do you want this one so bad?
this mixer is an exellent choice for a DJ of any skill. I highly recommend it. you can pick up a new one for about $800 USD if you know where to shop on-line. http://www.hollywooddj.com and http://www.123dj.com
Used ones aren't too much cheaper because these mixers are in high demand and hold their resale value well.
If you feel like saving about $250 more than you can get the DJM-600, which has a few more nice features, definetely worth the upcharge.

i've only used the 600 cos one of the guys in my crew has one.. its hella nice and i plan to get one.. either that or the Xone 62 but thats a little more costly.. anyways IMO you can't go wrong w/ the 500, or 600 for that matter.. just don't use the bpm counter cos then u will start to rely on it.. i don't use it because on my mixer there isn't one so there's no use.
You could get a used one for about $500-$600 if u look around
i saw one sell for $410 on uBid.com
hehe if you would of asked i could have hooked you up for $400
its sold already
hey i got my DJM600 at a place in Chicago called Midwest Stereo...if you call them up or email you can tell them to put u like on a waiting list....mixers come in all the time and they sell FAST...you might be able to work out a deal with them
www.midweststereo.com
The DJM-500 is definately a great beginner mixer and even the 600..
my mate just got brand new 500 with 2 CDJ-1000's last week and he's going quite well with the equipment.
