Uplifting prog house?

I feel like a n00b asking this question.

Is this some sort of subgenre now?

Tunes with very trancey uplifting feel, but with house bassline.

I guess some stuff that Desyn Masiello and Luke Fair plays.

Does this make sense?

He asked for trancey uplifting and housey basslines. Some Andy Moor tracks could fit that bill.

Yeah. Chris Micali is one of my fav producers. Andre Absolut rocks as well.

I'm looking for tunes like Jaytech - 1up, Joonas Halmo - Together. More... happy than trancey I guess. Though trancey ones rock too...

I guess Three Drives - Greece 2000 (Leama & James Davis remix) qualifies as 'uplifting prog house' too? Though it's a wank of a tune

BTW, Ian, your sig is so true...

www.david-west.com

check out his tracklistings for his go west radio show

actaully forget that, just browse the prog house section of beatport, don't be afraid to go back a couple years there are 100's of hidden gems in there sick basslines, really good uplifting prog

Posted by Yohan on Jul-18-2007 02:43:

Eh. I haven't listened to David West's recent stuff, but I didn't like his earlier productions... Too fluffy

desyn/paolo mojo - big room space disco

once i put space disco on a flyer for one of my parties and while i was playing this disgruntled 40 year old came into the booth and demanded to know when i was going to play disco lol

i had to explain to him what i meant before he would leave

Posted by kadomony on Jul-18-2007 03:46:

desyn's been pretty spot on for what i've been listening to / playing.
most of it in said style

Recent favorites:

Medway & Sven Hauck - Amonamen (Matt Rowan & Jaytech Remix)
Vibrasphere - In Control (Chris Micali Remix)

best uplifting progressive house -

eelke kleijn - 8 bit era

absolutely love looping the measure before the drop on my cdjs, flanging, and then adjusting the outpoint with the track search button to create a building rhythm and then releasing it right when the loop points are about to overlap orgasmic on the dancefloor.

Are you sure you know what you're talking about?

The Chris Micali remix, not the dub.

+1

Love how the accent points in the video game melody shift back and forth. Wonderful tune.

Not sure about what you're looking for, but give these a try :

Maindave - Japan Noise
Tommyboy & Mannel - Feel It (Renaissance Sequential Mix)
Faces - Ironic/Sunset Drive/Tsumani

If you like Kleijn's 8 Bit Era, then I'd also recommend his remix of Junk Science - Troll
