Global Excursion 7 Anyone?

Well, as one of the guys who was a part of that series from the begining, I would like to see some more of them. They made for some pretty awesome mixes.

I would be willing to sponsor the ftp space and organize it.

I would just suggest a free for all. We never really had a problem before with flow issues, most people where competent enough to pick tracks that fit in well.

Here are the rules from previous series:

13 DJ's, 5-7 mins each.

You MUST use 320Kbps on encoding, Certain encoders are crap so any mixes heard with arse compression (mixmeister a culpret) will be deleted.

You MAY upload in WAV form if the next person is happy to download such a huge file.

FTP use for uploading, if your not aware of how to use FTP, learn yourself QUICK or don't enter.

No YOUSENDIT type entries.

You need to respond to your email from the previous DJ withing 48hours DEAD, failiure means removal and go passed, this needs a FORUM POST confirmation.

Once you have downloaded the mix to date, you have 4-5 Days to upload your completed addition. PM's will be sent with FTP info.

Please keep to the rules and it'll be ALL OK!!!!

Have alot of fun too.

Essentially how it works:

Seeder uploads the Song as B.mp3. It is listed as B so person B on the list knows this is what they are to mix into. When they upload their mixed in mp3, they upload it as C.mp3 and so forth. Then message the next person in line the FTP info.

If I see enough interest I will take the names and get it going.
In either case the cd must be seeded with a trance track.

i'd be up for this again, but judging by the response so far i doubt 11 others would

if fewer djs apply then we could always have 2+ tunes per dj.. either in a row or something like: dj1 -> dj2 -> dj3 -> dj4 -> dj1 -> dj2... for example (if there were 4 djs)

Yea, maybe we should pm some of the other guys who used to do these.

I'm down. I like Isoterra's idea of 2 tunes per dj.

A 3 way is even better. That means more tunes for us since the guys you wrote down haven't posted in a long time. If we're going to do it that way I have dibs on the middle part of the set.

I would be down if I wasn't off to Ibiza on Tuesday.

Would you guys prefer to do 4 tracks from each right in a row, or rather Me - Iso - Stevie - Me - Iso - Stevie ... etc

I think it would probably be better if we did that or did 2 tracks in a row from each then hand off.

count me in if u need another

Posted by Psychotron on Aug-02-2007 00:59:

Okay. Since we got 4 let's do it this way. Everyone will get to add three tracks. Though we will be doing only one track at a time from each.

It will go:

A. Psychotron
B. Stevieboy
C. isoterra
D. spc

E. Psychotron
F. isoterra
G. Stevieboy
H. spc

I. isoterra
J. Psychotron
L. spc
M. Stevieboy

And if there is time left I will add a finisher since I will seed.

OR..

Would you guys prefer to do three tracks in a row?

..........................................

Rules work as follows:
PM the guy ahead of you when you have uploaded your addition. You upload your addition as LetterOfNextGuy.mp3. e.g. I will upload as B.mp3 so Stevieboy knows that is the one to mix into. I will also pm him the ftp info.

That should be the same process for everyone. PM when done, and give ftp login info.

I will go ahead and seed it, but I gotta think on it.

Anyone have any objections to this?

Okay... We Will give it a little while. See if anymore join up.

So far:
Psychotron
isoterra
stevieboy32808
spc
evelon

I would like one more then do two tracks a each and whoever seeds gets to finish it. so 13 tracks.

I'd rather do 3 tracks in a row, but it seems Evelon wants to join which is great to see him back so I guess doing one track at a time seems more reasonable than all in a row. I vote for the way you have up above -the way we always do it.

Posted by spc on Aug-02-2007 06:02:

i'd rather do 1 track each time, but being that it is a little more annoying due to more uploading (which i dont mind), i'm down for whateve r the majority wants

oh yea quick question, this is gonna be all trance right?

It usually is, yes. I remember one time there was a free for all for one cd, but all the rest are trance.

Posted by isoterra on Aug-02-2007 06:21:

well the free-for-alls normally end up being mostly trance anyway.. but if something from another genre fits with the flow then i'd say why not. i think it was GE4, allied nations added a housey tune right in the middle of a trance set & managed to make it fit beautifully. that was probably my favourite installment of the series

Posted by Psychotron on Aug-07-2007 05:07:

bump, any more. On Monday the 13th when I return from travels whoever has posted by then is on this. We can figure out how to best approach the tracks at that time.

Posted by Psychotron on Aug-14-2007 01:02:

Okay let's get this started:

I will seed, and we will just repeat until we are close to 80 minutes. It might be more time consuming, but I think it promotes better diversity in the mix.

A. Psychotron
B. Stevieboy
C. isoterra
D. spc
E. evelon
F. Psychotron
G. Stevieboy
H. isoterra
I. spc
J. evelon
K. Psychotron

For the time being this is how it will go, if after E. there is room for more then one more track we will figure it out then.

Again the rules:

I will upload my song as B.mp3 and then pm stevieboy with the ftp info and he will mix in his track and upload as C.mp3 and pm isoterra the ftp info, and so forth.

I will think on which track I want to seed with.

Let's have fun with this.
