Just Bought Serato and Need Help for Gig Tomorrow!

As the title says, I need help for my gig tomorrow. Specifically, I am having problems with the music library. Everything works fine but for some reason, Serato doesn't pick up song titles? For example, I title my songs by bpm, artist, and track name... however, serato only picks up the initial bpm reading on some tracks and on others, it doesn't even list it...

so to clarify, instead of tracks being displayed as they are titled in windows, serato will show the song title as being something completely different like the artist name...

also, how do you clear the browser, i wanna reset all my crates and whatever is in my browser, how do i do that?

thanks!

Ctrl+Delete

Serato reads your tracks by the ID tags.
In windows right click on the file and go
properties >> summary >> advanced.
Have fun renaming

Are you using "Mixed In Key" ?? if you are then i suggest you remove the option where it writes the tracks in the ID3 tags... if you need renaming tracks, "Tag a& Rename" is a software that might make it a lil bit easier for u do fix stuff!

if you have the new update off the scratch live forums, then jst disconnect the box an click "build Overviews", it will calculate all the bpms without having to rename the tracks!

Hahaha, I bought Serato HOURS before my gig. I had never used it before, and I had no problems whatsoever. But yes, it's best to practice with it first.

no, serato is working out, i found a way to work around my labeling mistake, so now all my songs are exactly the way i like them...

but it does suck how serato only supports mp3s and not wmas...i spent two hours converting my music! also, i can't get the instant doubles feature to work properly, i always have to do the double myself.....and how do i clear all the tracks in the serato library?

thanks again

MixedInKey's tag renamer screws up all the time

TagScanner is a great free ID tag renamer

whats the point of id3 tag renamers if you can go into the property window and within that the advanced tab...there you can edit the tags...do these programs support other features?

It would be nice if there was a program that used the information provided in the song title for creating id3 tags...

I just like TagScanner because it can edit multiple track at a time which is good for getting rid of fields that have unwanted info. I also like how it can rename the filename based on the ID3 tag. Nothing make me more mad then the finale name being all pretty and the ID3 tag look like shit

I use mp3tag (Windows) at times. It can scan filenames and extract artist/title information, but you have to feed it the pattern, eg. %artist% - %title%.

One I use(d) in Linux is called easytag or something similar, and it had pretty much the same function.

hth.

Do you have the instant doubles option checked in the setup menu? Are you in Relative mode? Instant doubles doesn't work in Absolute mode.

What do you mean exactly? Turn the green tracks back to white? Delete all your tracks you've imported?

What program do you use for that?

I converted some of my tracks to wma and now can't change them back

This program works rather well and let's you do multiple files at once. I converted 75 files at once...
