That might be a total of Toronto users, but those who are actually part of the Toronto network, is 700,217

"Teens Rank MySpace as Strongest Social Networking Brand"

"A report issued yesterday by Forrester shows that nearly 80% of 12-17(a) year olds use MySpace at least weekly which is four times more than any other social network.(b)"

I'm pretty sure most of us are 20+

And i'm pretty certain most people over 20 would agree that Facebook is superior to that whore display that is MySpace

Is myspace still around?

Posted by SuperJimbo on Jul-20-2007 02:40:

I guess it all depends what you are looking for. Here is a good description of the distinction between the two sites...

"The two social networks have carved out contrasting, though shifting, reputations. MySpace, owned by the News Corporation, has fostered an anarchic aura with few restrictions on creativity, while allowing users to integrate tools from other companies into their pages, like slide show displays. Recently, however, the company has blocked the efforts of several companies to advertise to MySpace users or otherwise make money through those tools.

Facebook, on the other hand, has kept its members in something of a creative straitjacket. Users could not customize their pages or add tools created by other companies.

Those restrictions helped preserve Facebooks clean, uniform appearance and reinforced its emphasis on offering practical ways to communicate online with friends."

That article would have been worth something, except for facebook allowed 3rd party content right around that time.

sorry for disturbing your little private chit chat lol

I'm not sure exactly. lol Maybe I'm afraid that if I start one or both, I won't be able to stop.

lol Shows you how little I know. I guess I was focused on the description of MySpace as "anarchic...with few restrictions on creativity". I've always been amazed/repelled by how chaotic people's MySpace pages look. Anarchy seemed like the right word.

Yes. Resist the evil.

I have no idea what you are talking about.

Posted by beefy k on Jul-20-2007 03:23:

I'm way more addicted to TA than Facebook.

At least TA promotes the sharing of relevant knowledge not necessarily limited to the music we all hold dear. So many good discussions happen here. Hard to find on Facebook or MySpace.
