Teh new Harry Potter book

I lieked it, plenty of good closure. Goes a bit wack towards the end though.

Why did they have to kill Hermione though?

Whoops, did I just spoil it?

Sry...

p.s I still reckon Snape is on Harry's side, he only killed Dumbledore because he had to perform that unbreakable vow thing. Dumbledore must have told him to kill him if necessary, so that he could keep spying on Voldemort. Plus he's a good Occlumens, which means Voldemort can't bust him.

so what if I like books made for ten year olds? Fuck off, all of you.

CNN was interviewing some assclown earlier today that said that kids are going to freak out because a character dies. like they're going to go into depression and need to cope.

any kid that freaks out over a book like that needs to be slapped.
*edit*
with the book itself.

fuck, so much hype and spoilers for this book that the press around it is 10x more interesting and entertaining than the book and movie I bet.

Spoiler

I wanted him to die. Really, I did. To see the millions and millions of people crushed that their favorite fictional character was killed off would've been so devilishly great. Suffice it to say I never bought the book, but I'm very disappointed that he lived.

Overall, I am quite disappointed by the violent content in children's books today. There's simply not enough of it. Violence is important to be exposed to at an early age because it teaches young people to genuinely fear things in this world. Like Russians.

The wait was well worth it (if you dont count the epilogue which gave absolutely no closure, that part could have been done differently) it was still an excellent book. For the first time ever im going to say that im looking forward to the movie version since the battle for Hogwarts is sure to be one of the most awesome things to hit the big screens ever ( a little exaggerating on my part there but hey i only read trough the book last night and im still hyped up by it).

Also my 11 year old niece doesnt like the book, apparently to many characters she likes die (she much prefers the firt two books, the sweet child). At some point when she grows up a bit i think i will have to introduce her to the A Song of Ice and Fire series

Spoilers etc.

It was a decent read and a solid ending to a good series, started out really well but she needed to cut out some of the random BS in the middle, and expand it by 50 pages at the end to go into more detail. It's like fred/tonks/lupin die, happy kills Voldemort, bam cut to the end. The '19 years later' was cheesy as fuck as well.

Just felt like she gave no real sense of closure. We have no idea what happened after Voldemort dies, except for some vague info that Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione marry and all have a bunch of kids. Would be nice to know who takes over Hogwarts, who takes over at the Ministry, to see how people deal with all the death and how they come through, how they react to their victory, what happens to the malfoys, what happens to all the bad guys etc etc.

Imagine if they'd ended book 6 directly after Harry chases Snape out of Hogwarts after he kills Dumbledore? That's kinda what it felt like.
