Heard a bit about this a while ago and I have always thought Mod Club would be a great venue. Is this going to be afterhours?

This sounds awesome. Wish I could be there for opening night, but I don't get back into town until the 19th.

Heard about this a few months back, and great to see it's come to fruition...congrats guys!

It will not be an afterhours. The club will be open 11pm each and every Friday night, and will wrap up between 4 and 5am. The night may go later, depending on the event, and how full the club is later on in the night/morning.

Nice - competition for TIL. Very excited.

People coming to my bday bbq on the 19th better skip opening night...or come really sketchy

i wouldn't really consider it competition; totally different market segments here.

yes i've been reading too much marketing today.

I love the venue... kind of sucks about the non afterhours part though. Fortunately I can just imagine the kind of talent that will be brought in. Satoshi Tomiie anyone?!

Posted by activate on Jul-27-2007 00:16:

i consider 5am afterhours. booze stops at 2!

Posted by Carey on Jul-27-2007 19:10:

IF the venue is still busy at 4 AM, we will keep things rolling...same kind of deal at Sonic...we didn't really close until it thinned out...not that this is going to carry on until 7 or 8 AM.

I'd still love to hear from the venue (or ADD I guess) what happened at the end of Richie Hawtin a while back now. The place was rammed at 3:30 (the irony is so thick I'm choking) and the venue staff was pushing to shut it down (or at least that's what it appeared to be from every direction), to which either Richie came off or they pulled the plug at 3:40 to a pissed off full house.

Obviously this is a different situation/relationship with the venue (and time has passed) but I'm just hoping you guys don't have any kinks like that as imo the venue was relatively perfect up until that moment.

ps. addy and ned kick ass
