I can never get into fictional books. They just happen to bore me for some reason.

Check out any of the books by Robert Cormier.
they are true crime (mostly fiction but really good)

Also, one of my favorite crime-type books was "Mindhunter" by John Douglas.
This is the guy who Clarice Starling's boss at the FBI was based on.
He is one of the original criminal profilers.
I wish i had his job.

Tucker Max is hilarious. Feels kind of lame to pay for what is pretty much a segment of his website on paper, but it's funny all the same.

I love books.

Just finished reading Glamorama by Ellis and Filth by Welsh. Currently reading Crash by Ballard, and Tropic of Cancer by Miller.

I always thought that his best piece was about his advice about law school.

Informative and entertaining

well its a bit engineery but if you like non fiction and are interested in the way things work check outThe Control of Nature by John McPhee.

its about three circumstances where the US has used military and other engineering outfits in an attempt to control various natural forces. directing a volcano in iceland is pretty neat. but it also foreshadowed the problems in New Orleans with the Army Corps attempt to control the flow of the Mississippi River and the draining of the swamps around NO.

its technical, but its a great read and not too long|
