Do Not Support Tentation

I can't believe that Tentation would do such a thing and think they can get away with it!!!!!!!

owe Giant over $30,000 in unpaid bills, while I am sure they are making mad money!!!!!!!!!
try to steal their talent
try to continue the nights they have built without Giant

Don't support the club as they did nothing but insult the patrons by holding up discount lines. The only thing they had going for them was the talent that Giant brought to the club and now that is gone!

any news link?

or this is just random rambling?

Posted by vet26 on Jul-25-2007 05:29:

i dont know anything about money being owed, but I do know that my worst experiences with EDM clubs in so cal was at Tentation. Once I got in, it was fine and I enjoyed the music as much as the next person but it was a bitch to get in and it really didnt seem that people there are into the music as much as they are at other places. Of course, thats not the venue's fault but security and the people on the correct side of the velvet rope were jerks, and im not easily offended. I went twice and swore never to go again...glad the Giant moved.

Got any solid proof?

Regardless, It's going to be my pleasure to rub their nose in it, fucking stupid move.

Posted by Clovis on Jul-25-2007 06:10:

Why would any of us have any reason to go there now anyway?

i think those that know the whole story are basically taking the high road and not discussing it on a public message board. Let's just say this wasn't Giant's choice to move....

If there's one thing I have learned regarding situations like this is don't go out and post this info yourself.

In the case that this is ever proven untrue, you yourself could be held libel for the things you say.

This is a situation that is best for Giant and any other organization directly involved to make themselves.

I'm not saying this in an attempt to discredit anything you are saying. I have zero clue. But just saying these are situation where you should refrain from posting anything regarding it as your statement can damage the reputation of the club...and if your statements are ever proven untrue, Tentation could decide to take you to court to squeeze anything out of you they can.

Chances are it won't happen. And chances are you are posting info you are confident is true. But in the end, the whole story could be skewed in some ways and some details get distorted. Why take the chance of posting any info where you can potentially get yourself in a bind.

Dave

Uhh...I'd say problems with security and people on the 'right side of the velvet rope' do fall under venue problems. Tentation hired them, not some outside company.

Exactly!

Posted by mar46017 on Jul-25-2007 15:50:

Dave has a point. There are so many politics between promoters and venues. Its better to stay out of it, if it does not directly effect you.

The fact that Giant kept the weekly as long as they did should be applauded. A promoter may be able to pull off a successful one time event but to keep a weekly going is tough.

Things happen, especially in the entertainment industry. Generally the promoter's doorman (or doorwoman) should be the one controlling who gets in and the venues security should be checking ID's.

Tentation is a beautiful club/lounge/ultra lounge. Looks like they may have been acting too "Hollywood" for OC.

I think there are only about 5 people on the TA boards that went to Tentation before Giant was ever there.. so you don't have to worry! I went 2-3 times..on non-giant nights.. but I couldnt hang with the Arabic music they would mix in...

Looks like "ministry of sound" is there now thursdays...

I heard that Ten was losing money on Thursday nights. That certainly doesn't give them the right to not pay their obligations.

I think Club Vegas is a better fit for Giant and EDM anyway. So regardless of what happened, it's better us (the club goers) in the long run.

The only event I have heard that is going to be at Ten is Tiesto at the end of the summer. Apparently, he is coming the night after he spins at Jet in Vegas.... and general tickets are going to be $100 a piece!

Anyone else heard of this? I'll be skipping that one... $100 is crazy.

If they were loosing money, my grandma is Madonna. Their thursday bar was making a shit load of money and if they lost money at the door it was because they were picking off our crowd and comping them while discrediting our guest lists. Bad for us, but I am glad we don't have to worry about it any longer. I was saying it 4 months ago, move the party to Club Vegas, so I am glad to be out of that mess of shit.

ps. To the person who posted this thread, someone trusted you with confidential information and as much as we would love to drag Ten thru the mud, its not right to post it in here. I personally don't mind but it changes nothing, we are just moving on and if the money issue is to that extent, a lawsuit is in order. As for now its all about focus on our continued weekly promotions.

word. nicely put.

Who cares... Tentation was fun while it lasted but Giant would exceed capacity on a regular night. The crowd for the most part is not there for the music. Glad they moved somewhere else anyhow! Vegas has a ton of potential stay posted with GIant its going to be great in the following weeks.

do any of you guys remember that pirate raver guy that was all the top shows? well i bumped into him at giant village, and asked him what he has been up to and he said he was going to stop the whole pirate deal, and continue doing promotions. According to his myspace he's doing all kinds of promo's with persian dj's and such. Guess where they're taking place at? Ten! so thats the culprit atleast i think so.

That guy (his name is Masoud)is one of the nicest guys. He did start organizing events here and there, but his events are geared toward the foby Persian crowd w/ Persian DJ's. He just likes to frequent EDM and Persian events. I'm sure he has nothing to do with Giant deciding to leave Ten.

I did see Ten using the Minestry of Sound logo to replace their Thursday nights. Does OC really need 2 venues playing electro on the same night?
