Get hired as club security?

Are club security usually contracted through an outside firm, or hired by the club themselves? What kind of experience do they need?

+1. Those monkeys are one of the things I hate about clubs around here. Those ******s are usually idiotic-looking meat heads that get off by pushing people around. On a few occasions, I was almost ready to knock one of those douches out, but I didn't want to face the consequences. Why can't clubs just get rent-a-cops? These people are actually civil and could be reasoned with.

EDIT: They don't do anything useful either. One time we went to see Ferry Corsten and the place was pretty crowded. Some big douche started jumping around and stomping people's feet. This idiot got me as well and almost broke my foot. I pushed him away and told him to watch it. Dude gave me a dirty look and started jumping around in another place. Some guy got in his face and a fight almost broke out. They started shoving each other and there was never a bouncer in sight. If it wasn't for some fellow clubbers, a massive fight would break out for sure.

i thought that was common knowledge, plus alot of my freinds up north are bouncers. There is nothing wrong with it at all, they get rid of the drunk jackasses who ruin peoples nights/

I've seen plenty of opportunities where bouncers have saved a potentially ruined night. I'd hate to go to the club that doesn't have any.

seems like most here in LA go through 3rd parties. vanguard doesnt though.

If u get some experiance & some hookups u might be able to land a door job at a good club. I had a few friends that were door guys at some chicago clubs & they made some tall cash.

exactly. there are problem people in all kinds of professions, but most people that complain about bouncers are the fuckwits that cause the need for them in the first place.
