Wai, this place is great. If you go on a regular night it's a prix fixe dinner with really good food, and a totally wacko vegas style revue and russian singers. Totally weird, and lots of fun.

i was just saying rasputin was a bad man thats all. i can't go because i'm leaving for a wedding. i do like russian food so maybe i'll go sometime but not when they have russian pop music; it's only entertaining for so long

For those of you intending to go, that have never been...

The place will be filled with ALOT of russians, the dancing space is small and it will be packed out. Rasputin is a Russian restaurant gone night club on the weekends. If youre gonna go, it is important that you dont feel alienated.

You make Russian people sound scary, which they aren't. Maybe I'll go there one of these days just to remember what it was like being in Russia but I'm sure the people at Rasputin will be nicer

When I went there, the dance music they were playing was this odd mix of salsa, and bad pop, and even some bad trance. We had a ball.

Its not that we are scary, Im just saying 90% of the people that will be there are russian, and there will be russian dance music played periodically.

Ruki Vverk's club mixes ? He's one of a handful of Russian pop artists I find moderately entertaining...

That's about the size of it. She wanted to meet up with me and Gabe @ Tiesto last weekend, but with the bullshit that went on there, I wasn't able to see her in person.

Review

....Well, I won't lie. I did feel a tad bit apprehensive when I was there. Just people looked as if they hadn't seen a black guy before. But once I saw a few black guys inside, "WHEW" was what I said

Jes performed for about 30 minutes. Great performance. Played a number of tracks from her album "Disconnect." Tracks such as "Around You" and "As The Rush Comes." I believe that was on the album too.

The DJ's playing there were playing stuff from straight up House to Tribal. Digging a few productions from each DJ's set. The DJ after Jes played like 3 Tiesto tracks in a row (starting off with Traffic ). Strange. Then the guy who went on after (DJ Shorty NYC) was doing an afterhours set. Quite a few good minimal/electro House tracks.

Overall, it was a decent night. Sorry, no pics/videos as I left the camera in the car.
