bought a pair of cdj200URGENT! HELP!
i hav just cdj200s and a djm400 mixer... i am pretty sure i have wired them correctly. why is there no sound coming out through headphones or speakers?! i dot think the mixer has realised that it has cdjs plugged into it.....
Did you plug your mixers into the RIGHT ports? You're supposed to plug the RCA cables into LINE and NOT PHONO. It's a common mistake if you did that.

man they are! ill double check but! im definetly not that dumb with electronics....
Is the mixer on?
Trace the signal through - are you getting levels showing up on your mixer?
no levels
headphone volume? different RCA/digital cables?
if you have an ipod or any other device that plays audio, try setting it up to ur mixer.. if it doesn't work then its probably the mixer.. but are u sure u have the cables going in the right ports?
since you are a new owner I'll suggest firstly that you have read your manuals! sounds like you've checked your connections appropriately but make sure your gains arent turned down, if you've set your input switches to line and are hooked up appropriately this woudl be the only cause. gl.
btw: you can also connect a pair of phones to your cdj's to see if its a mechanical problem with them.
mess with the gains. Believe it or not, when I first started hooking my shit up that was the problem. Make sure the gains/trims are up off of 0.
also check for a master limiter
that messed with me at first too
try plugging something else into the mixer... maybe a home cd player or dvd player or something, just to check.
If all else fails, might be a b0rked mixer.
first things first.
your CDJ200s have a headphone input at the back. plug your phones into them and play a track. you should hear it in the phones. there's a volume knob right next to it, which is specifically for the headphone volume, so make sure it isn't all the way down when you try this.
now, once you have eleminated the possibility of it being the CDJ, go to the mixer.
connect your CDJs to the CD inputs. you will notice the cables align vertically, not horizontally. your channel gains/trim should be at 12 o'clock or so. now, plug your headpones into the mixer, set the headphone volume at about 10 o'clock or so. in any case, if there is sound coming out of the CDJ, the level lights should be lighting up.
try pressing the different cue buttons you have on the left side of the mixer to see if you can get any sound out of it.
if your CDJs are good, but none of the above works for the mixer, then the mixer is definitely the problem.
