Armin back in NYC Nov 2nd?

he's @ Glow in DC November 3rd..so why not come back the 2nd and play somewhere in the city haha

Posted by phoenixBEBE on Jul-27-2007 23:34:

^^ entirely possible...Armin does usually pull a NY-then-DC the day after type of deal as we all know, we'll see. G, you should SOO pass him a message or two, ahha. But where would he play? PACHA (*DOUBLE GAG*)...REBEL <--hmm now THAT would be interesting.

then again im kinda curious on seeing the *new* GLOW at Club Ibiza -- hope springs eternal, they already booked Edgar V this past weekend or something, i wonder how that went, hopefully WELL.

Kind of a cheesy venue. They use that fog machine way to much there.

my bday is nov 1st
so this would be a good bday gift
but he better bring it this time
and if he is back in nov
isent pvd at roseland the week before?
thats gonna be nuts if both of these events happen

Posted by gmoney44 on Jul-28-2007 02:02:

keep in mind why Armin played @ Pacha in the 1st place...18+..not gonna be @ Rebel or Mansion bc its 21+..its most likely going to be @ Pacha again..unless theres another large venue out there willing to do 18+..and Armin better do an 8+ hour set like he did in LA the 14th..ahh..i can see the tracklist now..haha

Roseland????

Why is mansion going to be 21+? If it's new owners with a new license i do see why they would have to follow the same court order imposed on the ownership group of crobar/studio.

with the attendance from mccarren park, he's shown that he can definitely fill up roseland.

Posted by phoenixBEBE on Jul-28-2007 04:22:

well for the sake of the NYC scene and all Armin fans here, i DO hope he throws down a killer 6+ hr set with good flow the next time hes in NYC.

im most likely NOT attending but i do hope to read/hear good reviews from it.

some new/worthwhile productions would be a good start.

oh ok, thats what i thought u meant.

i actually never went to GLOW at FUR @ all so i have no basis on which to comment. BUT the lukewarm/mixed reviews i kept about parties at FUR kept me from wanting to go back to party. I'm so hoping CLUB IBIZA will be different.

The party 'Glow' (it wasn't the name of the club, just the party) is moving from Fur (which was a shit hole) to a new club called Ibiza. No matter how club ibiza actually is, it is certainly an improvement over fur. Last time i was there i witnessed 5 fights in the matter of two hours. That's just ridiculous. Plus the place has a horrid odor. Normally i wouldn't say this, but hopefully they are a bit more selective at the door.

lol thanks for the history lesson.

i **know** its a party, used to road trip it down there. last time was for Tiesto at Insomnia in 2003 (probably the ONLY Tiesto party I truly had fuuun at). its those Insomnia days i long for. i just hope that things are managed differently there thats all. lol i heard maaaany stories from my friends down in DC/VA who frequented FUR and they truly detested most things about the mgmt/crowd etc. People wer rude, and the fights that you mention, well im def not surprised. and there were definitely some DJS who ended up hating on the place after one too many bad experiences. but of course everyones gonan have their differing opinion about it. one of my Pet Peeves was the curfew at 4am (Insomnia parties would sometimes end at 6am at times) when i went down for Menno in 2006, LOVE closed at 330am and i was like wtf

in all these years, BUZZ@Nation > FUR until it shut down. Went down for the closing party at NATION (drum and bass) and had a GREAT time

well judging from what people said about Club Ibiza during its opening night, they certainly did not come away with a good impression of the place. They said the dj sucked and the place looked crappy. but it was a nonGLOW event so who knows? im def willing to revisit the DC/VA trance scene if it appears to improve.

For the past two years, Drew and I have been goign down to DC/VA for local house parties and getting skooled in house/tech/minimal down there -- there are some KICKASS local djs down there and awesome ppl to boot.

awwww ok. i stand corrected thx the friend who i initally met with this screenname on TA awhile ago was Jose. thats the assumption I was going by, my apologies. Yup, you def write differently than he does.

Reviews came from several friends of mine who went to that opening nite, but hey everyone has a different opinion and I acknowledge that. Im also not online all the time, nice to read some positive reviews. thats all we can hope for.

hmm so how was Edgar V im so curious how it went.

Posted by DeRangedMind on Jul-28-2007 15:51:

Well me and Jose hangout almost everyone weekend unless he out at some random city partying. You might be seeing me tang along with him since I am very curious to visit NY since I never have

Didn't even think tiwce about going because it concerns me when a DJ like Edgar V who played trance in 2002/2004 went house but can you really blame since everyone doing it
Plus Jose rarely goes out and see trance DJ's anymore since that fool has a itch for house I should have broken his Ipod in 2005
