Need some help on tune selection.

Just as a title states. I need some tunes that would be good to dance to. I don't want just anything though. I pretty much want to build my set on these 2 tunes:

Enjoy The Gravy (James Zabiella's Totally Turntabled Mix)
Basic Perspective - Small Step On The Other Side (Elevation Remix)

Posted by Tony Morello on Jul-28-2007 03:49:

you want me to mix it for you to?

this is what being a dj is all about, digging for tunes, try it

lol, no.

It's just that I really don't know how to look. I need to know what sort of artists I should be looking for, besides, sites like beatport don't always categorize their tunes properly

this is like the continuous community dj project with your threads

2 Unlimited - Get Ready For This
Backstreet Boys - Everybody
Village People - YMCA

Edit:

Darude vs Crazy Frog - Get Ready For the Sandstorm

Actually that 2 Unlimited track ain't half bad

Seriously, you really need to do the hunting yourself. You need to build your own sound, and it will feel better to dig up a "gem" yourself than if we did the digging for you.

id say its a good thing that theyre not always categorized properly, cos then you stumble across tunes you wouldnt normally find!

i love beatport, i can get lost in it for hours! clicking the "people who bought this also bought" links and checkin out different labels, etc.

its always worth lookin at the charts too, so far im at page 42 in the charts and making my way right through the lot!

anyway the point is, like Tony Morello said, thats what dj's about! diggin for tunes in your spare time.

we can't create your sound, you have to

sure we can suggest tracks but you have to learn to dig and look for tunes, it's what being a dj is all about

yeah, it takes a while to get your own style.

i would close with enjoy the gravy... but that's just me. i think that would be the perfect song to close a set with. i'm not familiar w/ the other track though. if you want some tracks, go to beatport, STOMPY, or juno, listen to tracks, and buy the ones you like.

or ask the guy at your friendly neighborhood vinyl shop. He'll point you in the right direction...
