Rave Tiesto, Rave on in Dallas
WoW! and this is even as I was sober the whole night...still Wow!
This was alot better than I originally expected. Probably the biggest thing to boast about is the venue. The Palladium beats out the Lizard Lounge big time!!! I really wish Armin was there this past spring and not at the LL. And I saw on the flyers that the Fall Meltdown will be at the Palladium this year!
The capacity was 3,000, and even as the show sold out, there was still plenty of space. Of course, front-center and through the back is packed, hot and sweaty. But if you realy wanted to dance, just move to the side or further back and you can find the space. Several bars located everywhere, and they were fast! The entry was fast, scan DL and ticket, and you are in.
There was a huge rule of no cameras. And the security guard that wanted to do random drug searches looked in my purse and saw my camera. He told me that if I'm spotted taking a picture, they would kick me out. Whatever!Everyone had cameras and everyone used them. No one was going to brave going through the huge crowd to get to us I guess. So I took tons of video!!! I'll upload in a bit.
Kean did an amazing job of warming up the crowd! Kudos to him! Once he played "Carry Me Away" - I knew I was ready to have a good time!
Tiesto was scheduled to come on at 11:30, and everyone knows it never works out like that. But he did come on a little after midnight, and that still isn't too bad. Decor was awesome for Dallas, and 3 huge projector screens, along with many many bright lights and smaller screens really lit up the set. I had seen many videos of Tiesto's shows from the past month in how his set goes. So I knew there would be this very lengthy opening. A man talking about the Elements of Life. It was nicely dramatic, but yeah....completely too long. He starts out with some nice tracks. Then he goes completely diva-ish and I wasn't feeling it. The middle part of his set wasn't that good either, but scattered in a couple of great tracks. Diary of Jane was played, and I sang my heart out. He also played several off of his lastest album, yet I didn't hear any of Jes' songs. *shrug* Towards the end, Tiesto really rocked it out. It went completely progressive and the house was jumping!! Some crazy electro shit! I loved it!!!! The lights were awesome, bright, colorful, played along with the music and enhanced the whole atmosphere. At the very end, he shoved in Adagio for Strings and Traffic - which was super nice to hear! I was towards the front at that time, and everyone was singing along the melody and jumping around. Good times!!!
Thank you to all the ravers that didn't follow the old rave stereotypes. Yes, I saw glowsticks and lights - that is completely fine, and I also saw a few beads, but it wasn't alot. But I didn't see any crazy outfits, pacifiers, masks, wings, crazy rave toys and I didn't smell any vicks. So I really appreciated that. Everyone really behaved themselves for being fucked up. So much better than the Lizard Lounge.
Bummer I was sober the whole time. Ah well, I'm broke anyway. lol But I'm sure the soberness made me highly aggitated at the crowd sometimes. Packed, hot, sweaty, - was pushed around alot, and my poor toes were stomped and jumped on. That's my only bad thing to say about my night. So over all AMAZING NIGHT!!!!

Can't wait to see your videos!
Do you know what other tracks he played? Glad to see you had a good time too!
Is there some reason you can't reply to the show threads like everyone else? Just wondering since you post a separate thread with every show review you do.

| Originally posted by djjonas Overall track selection was average, but he did manage to throw down Imogen Heap and Max Graham, which I enjoyed very much. The cheese factor was still there, but it wasn't as bad as I anticipated and there was definitely great energy in the room. |

anyone found a track list for this set?
Anyone happen to know the name of the Imogen Heap "Hide & Seek" remix he played (first vocal track of the set)? That's not his own remix is it?
Thanks

Steve, a friend of mine was asking the name of that track that tiesto played that made the whole crowd go wild. remember that one? you gave me the name once and i already forgot it...
The Hide & Seek remix you guys are looking for is Tiesto's remix. He hasn't released it and chances are, he either won't or theres a slight chance he'll release it in a year after hes played it and got tired of it.
By the way, do you guys have any more videos? They are great and keep em comin'!!
