Rebirth, it's free now.

Audiorealism - bassline is good but it is not free...
Yeah I agree you will have more luck posting this @ the production forums

Rebirth can be used as standalone.

do you mean a registered account with propellerheads?
I don't think I've ever gotten an e-mail from them, ever other than e-mail confirmation, if you are weary on spam.
and yeah, Re-Birth is standalone. 303, 808, and 909, and I'd suspect ReWire would make the entire workstation seamless.

rebirth, rubber duck. i'd suggest a couple of free vst's that can hack the sound, but since you don't know how to use fruity yet, it'd be a bit pointless.

This should be in the production forum but

try the demo of PHOSCYON.
They say it is the best emulation for the 303 so far.

It sound better than Bassline imo.

During a DJs set yesterday I told him I loved the 303 synth work in the track he was playing and he said "What the hell does that mean?"

I was ashamed of him.

AudioRealism Bassline:

http://www.audiorealism.se/abl/abl_info.htm

It is one (if not the only) of the best VSTis for TB-303 emulation.

Just tried it out. I like the sound, but I'm not an expert by any means (though I do love the 303).

Playing it side by side next to some acid from an Aphex Twin track (I'm pretty sure he uses an actual 303), and it still sounds good.

Posted by B_man on Jul-30-2007 04:20:

Aw cummon! You are using FL 6... try the TS-404, it's not even close, but it can make some pretty funky acid sounds if you try. It won't always fit, but it's got some squelch and buzz to it.

It's free...
YOu don't even have to leave your own backyard...

phoscyon isn't great, but when you combine it with ablpro you can make some sweet sounds
jay, whats your msn mate?

Isn't great in what way?
Clumsy workflow, poor sound or even both?
Haven't used the tool myself...

Posted by Az on Jul-30-2007 11:25:

i wasn't keen on the depth of sound it offered to be honest, it was a little too thin
combine it with ablpro though like I said, and it tends to creates a much fuller 303 sound than either can achieve by themselves
