Well, I quite school. I had no need for it. And then I got a alps printer for christmas. And then I was bootlegging ID's for my friends and their friends. But I grew out of that. And then I had no money, I applied my ass off at places, And Cigna was the one willing to pay me enough. Most people wanted to pay me 35-45,000, I wanted at least 5, Cigna gave me 60, And then a huge raise to 80. CIgna is a huge insurence company. Bigger then Aetna. Aetna didnt want me.

Im also currentlt starting my own business , building encryption applications for small companies.

Posted by whiskers on Apr-18-2002 12:34:

i'm gonna be majoring in computer science, like programming, networking, or some shiat like that...

Posted by trancaholic on Apr-18-2002 12:52:

In about two months I'll have a master degree in cs. I'll do another year to become a candidate of cs, and then perhaps the additional three years to get a ph.d. (that is, if I can find some university abroad that will have me ).
In conjunction with my studies I recently visited several companies in San Francisco. Cisco gave new employees around 50000$ a year, while one of the small companies we visited paid between 95000$ and 130000$.

WOW, I'm surprised how many people on this board are into CS )
Currently doing internship at a local company. Doing some boring coding in Java.

Posted by Mallard on Apr-18-2002 15:15:

I'm studying computer science (for the big fat pay cheque at the end of it), and I am surrounded by first-class grade A GIMPS every time I go into lectures, which is why I hate it.

ucsb is fucking dope...if i spin a party in Isla Vista any time soon(the neighboring party town) i will let you know. Yes and most of the people in my major are fucking nerds who always fuck up the curves on the exams.

Posted by AnotherWay83 on Apr-18-2002 22:37:

im still a freshman, and the unis i wanna transfer to dont require any CS courses in the first 2 years, so i haven't taken any CS classes, just teaching myself stuff, but i've always wondered, how do they test u in these CS courses? do they take u to labs and tell u to write programs within, say, 30 minutes, or do they print out source codes and ask u to point out errors...i just can't imagine how they would test ur knowledge in a CS course without taking u to the lab and asking u to do stuff on computers...

peace
