Doubt it.

Not with our politicians with their head up their asses.

Saw some of Just for Laughs festival yesterday and they blocked off from Queen to Dundas on Yonge St. And the sound system they had was pretty damn sweet for the main stage. (That open lot by Dundas entrance to Eaton Centre.

But we can't allow 'raves' in Toronto.

that Rave bylaw only affects after hours parties that go past 3am on city owned property... i believe Lovefest in San Fran happens during the day. so if anything it probably has more to do with club politics than city bylaws.. but then again.....

I really want to see if a promoter can host an EDM event somewhere in downtown toronto, during the day and say... all the profits go to a charity or some good cause.

My money's on a big fat 'NO'. And the promoter gets laughed at by the city council

that promoter would need a lot of money and a lot of permission from INK if they wanted to book any other DJ than Tiesto .. so you're probably right on the "no"

I don't know who you are but I'd go if I didn't hit up another festival earlier in June. Gah.

As for the line up, WOW. THIS is a proper festival.

I would travel just for the Chemical Brothers.

Am I blind? why couldn't i find ticket prices for this?

Posted by Tordan on Aug-17-2007 01:33:

^^ there are no tickets but they ask you to make a donation when you enter the event site. i believe there's a charge for the after party though.

Posted by dEsidEL on Aug-17-2007 14:35:

i'm still seeing flights in the range of around $500 .. that's nuts. you can fly to Europe for that price..

maybe cheaper from Buffalo?

-1 to North American flight taxes and rates..

chemical brothers are playing at the official preparty. tickets for that show can be found here: http://www.ticketmaster.com/artist/1148382

lee burridge is also headlining the official pre-party afterparty that same night: http://www.groovetickets.com/orders...6&PGname=Listed

the parade itself is a free event from 11:30am-9pm, though it did cost the organizers hundreds of thousands of dollars to obtain the city permit, so a $5 donation is asked, but not required, of all people who attend

there are also some big after-afterparties and undergrounds that haven't been announced yet

I was looking a while back and you could fly to LA for abour $350US w/ taxes from Buffalo.

And that wasn't even looking that hard, so i'm sure you could find some a bit cheaper.

They over week long parking, for $48US for 7 days.

True.. though if you take the distance into account, it's the same distance from here to SF as from here to Portugal.. when I went our flight was around $550 direct nonstop from Toronto and return had one stop in Chicago. (American Airlines)

If you go take the BART (subway) from the airport straight into downtown.. it's sweet.

For those planning on going - there's a subforum for it now - http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...p?s=&forumid=97

Yes, I think I would be heading to California for this...I have been talking to my friends about this...we are arguing between two options...Nocturnal Festival in LA ...the main artists and PVD, Chemical Brothers and a few others...and the LoveFest....Sep 29...lets see how it goes. I will probably go for Lovefest cos I just saw PVD @ Central Park and there is lot more variety here...oh man...this should be amazinggg..

After attending Electric Daisy Carnival in LA this summer...I have become a big fan of cali festivals...theyre fuckin huuugeeee
