Garden Pond (Satisfied now?)

hola mates,
I've just finished one...really small because this year I just want to try out how it is to have one etc...and this way I invested only like 50 cents for the sheeting (used an el cheapo plastic sack) and damn it looks sweet...next year I am going to invest to some kind of professional sheeting for this purpose and build a proper big one...

Here are pics

it's really small now...but looks pretty good I think, you wouldn't believe how calming the place is now...really great...

anyone else has one? thoughts? comments?

I am really excited just came back from the garden after I had spend the day arranging and building haha...

cute. needs big goldfish

haha thought that it would make it a bit cheesy...as much as a water lily would...

also it probably won't last over the winter...I just wanted to try, will be building a proper one in the spring I think...

Thanks, Frenchie

i thought they were called ponds

Looks good, the only negative I would say is that too much of your "liner" is visible, as I think it looks otherwise.

You work kinda like I work. The first time I do something I just want to get it to work, and I usually find that while I'm doing it I come up with all the ideas I want for the 'real' one.

that actually looks kinda gross. not saying your idea is not cool, it is.

but how do u get air circulating through that? looks like just stagnant water. just a breeding ground for mosquitos and what not.

if you do have something to airate (sp) the water, then very cool. yes you can see the outside edges but who cares, ur not a pro. so i think its cool

probably...I am not a native speaker, so I didn't know the right word, does it matter that much?

nchs09: I'll be adding some stuff to the bigger one I am planning to build...just wanted to try and thought it looked cool and btw, I am thinking about getting some kind of an air unit...will see...

Subey: yes, parts are visible, but I though I will let it settle down and then finish the decorating...also, I dont care that much, because of the working method hehehe...I prefer to work this way almost everytime...but not always I will have time to make a draft first...

thanks all

I'd call it a puddle.

Neat effort nevertheless.

Yeah, it's a mini pond. Lakes are huge.

Posted by BOOsTER on Aug-27-2007 21:08:

I am not a native speaker and here in czech it's usual to call them "jezirko" which is translated as something like ... "little lake" that's why I used it in the start of this thread, for the lack of other words thanks for correcting me though...

the dimensions are now about 2x3 metres
