efx-500/1000 question

this is not for me and i'm at work so cant really research much but are you able to hook up an efx-500 or 1000 to an existing DJM-400 and 1210s setup

How do you go of setting it up? I've never payed any attention to how efx were hooked up when Demi and JZ were in town. Does efx and vinyl even work?

Re: efx-500/1000 question

The DJM-400 does not have an effects insert or send/return feature.

Therefore, you'd have to place the EFX inline with the master out of the mixer and your speakers.

This is "ok", but you'll always effect the master (can't select which channel to play with).

You can alternatively place it between a deck and the mixer, but this would only let you use one deck with the EFX. And it would only work with a CDJ, unless you have an extra phono preamp lying around...

EFX-1000 with a DJM-400 is kind of a funny combo Lil mixer, BIG effector (it's HUGE in person, almost the size of a CDJ).

read a bit more and saw that my vestax 185xl is a better choice. guess ill have to tell my friend to not go w/ the djm-400 for an ideal setup.

can you recommend a mixer around the $500 range? Ecler NUO3?

I love Xone mixers. I dunno if you can get a 62 for cheap or a 32...but the 62 has built-in filters with aux send/receive.

And yes, Ecler has really good stuff. I'd recommend it if the Xone62 is too expensive.

if you want to get creative you could run the EFX inline from your CUE output into a seperate channel and then cue the channel you want to effect. the only downside I can see with this is you have to be careful about what you're doing.

man I love the EFX1000.

I just watched the video on this website : http://www.decks.co.uk/products/dj_...pioneer/efx1000

(Click on Video for the Pioneer EFX1000 Effects Unit)

It's 24min long. To whoever doesn't know what the EFX can do, check this out. I'm probably getting one within a month and plug it into my Xone92
