What is electro Trance?

Some one please give me some track examples of this.Lately i've heard SVD ocassionally get lumped into this.Any idea what it is exactly?

(No and i'm not a genre monger.I actually get frustrated that everything has to be lumped into tiny sub divisions.I think people should just listen to stuff and enjoy what they like. But yes examples of this please)

Honestly, that's all that's required for someone to use (and abuse) the label. Some tweaky electronic squeaks also help.

Electro Trance is a type of electronic music. It blends uplifting trance with some forms of electro. It originated around the early 2000s

courtesy of wikipedia. who really know what it all means these days. I like to stick to the basics: trance house techno and maybe throw a progressive in once in a while

On a personal level I don't think the genre exists. The word electro has been beaten up and tossed around like some old rag doll. The Ferry examples posted above sound like a bad attempt at trancey pop music plus all of those tracks have a 4/4 dance beat and not the traditional electro rhythm with the exception of Junk.

Now the sample posted below is electro. But first a little background on the track. It's actually a cross between italo disco and electro, but the producer did a great job of incorporating both influences beautifully.

+1, even though I love Ferry's work.

Yeah... But the summer always brings it back to life! Some great events coming around. Global gathering just gone, creamfields coming up. Ferrys 6 hour at Gods at Air.

Electro is like a new wave of electronic dance music that just being redundant, seems like every producer right now is making electro house or trance. I don't like any of it except a few thats closely related to Funky House Music. Overall, I think uplifting trance is taking a break right now, it will pick up later in September unto 2008.

There is no such thing as Electro Trance, and anyone who says there is an Electro Trance is an ignorant moron. Let me put it like this...

Just because it has buzzing synths or farty bassline doesn't mean it has anything to do with electro.

For me it does... I have heard many people talking about this type of music as electro trance! And I think myself the term fits. How would you call the still of the tracks I listed?

Posted by blacknoizybox on Aug-02-2007 12:37:

electro trance UNFORTUNATELY MY FRIENDS exists as the rotten flesh of "the good ol'" trance - speaking of Paul Van Dyk @ Global Gathering 2007, Ferry Corsten stuff and a whole bunch of other traitors who sold their soul for staying afloat the industry!!!! amen

p.s. Sander Van Doorn is also electro trance, but he is new in the business unlike PvD, FC, AvB, JH

I'm sure even more people talk about it as techno.
