Flippin codec problems w/WMP

Why the hell can't I listen to half the samples I get? Like Thrillseekers pack - I can listen to half the samples, the other half I can't... says I don't have the proper codec in WMP. I downloaded K-lite (cause that's the only thing I know of and it's of no help). Having problems reading a couple DVD's. Argh - any suggestions?

why are you using wmp to preview samples? can't your daw software do that?

I've got thousands of samples, so I like the effect on WMP that has "play all" on the left column. It just rips through all the samples and hits really quick. I can preview in Ableton, but it requires hitting the down arrow on each one.

The samples are 24-bit...

Ah - ok. Google'd that and will check out the codec to see if the one offered by http://www.cccp-project.net/ works to solve that.
