On Tuesday, Tancredo warned a group of Iowans that another terrorist attack would �cause a worldwide economic collapse.� IowaPolitics.com recorded his comments.

�If it is up to me, we are going to explain that an attack on this homeland of that nature would be followed by an attack on the holy sites in Mecca and Medina,� Tancredo said. �That is the only thing I can think of that might deter somebody from doing what they would otherwise do. If I am wrong, fine, tell me, and I would be happy to do something else. But you had better find a deterrent, or you will find an attack.�

Tom Casey, a deputy spokesman for the State Department, told CNN�s Elise Labott that the congressman�s comments were �reprehensible� and �absolutely crazy.� Tancredo was widely criticized in 2005 for making a similar suggestion.

Does this idiot think that MAD will work for terrorists? This threat will do nothing but encourage more Muslims to hate us.

I think he's the anti-christ.......or is Bush? Who knows but he sounds downright evil. He probably believes in the rapture....so who cares what happens to the world cause Jesus is coming anyways...to cleanse our souls and take us up to heaven.

im from Colorado and i think he is bat shit insane. he was elected by the wealthiest minority in the state, so his views are very marginalized. but that doesnt keep rich crazies from liking him.

i like that tancredo is basically an ethnic/immigrant name but he hates anyone that isnt white and wants to get rid of all the 'mexicans' too. good luck with that in CO. idiot|
