good older PC games
hey guyz. given i had a piece of shit computer for the past years (400MHz Celeron processor), and got this one at the end of last year (rocking an AMD 2.0GHz dualcore), i was unable to play any computer games really. so i missed a lot of good ones.
i finished playing Fallout and Fallout 2 a few weeks back (IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED IT, GET IT NOW. PURE OWNAGE) and i'm looking for some great titles i didn't play.
have been playing the original Unreal for a couple of days now, but i find it a bit disappointing. it is, really, just running around shooting things. there's supposed to be a story, but it doesn't show in the game. every now and then you get a bit of text in the "translator" that tells you something, but it's not very involving, IMO. i currently just got out of Chizra's Temple, any past players think i should continue? is Unreal II the same thing?
i like just about every single genre out there, as long as the game is good. hell, i hated RPGs, but then i played Fallout, which is an RPG basically, and it has to be my favorite game ever.
Well these are all older than Fallout, but meh - they're fun and they'll take you a bit of time:
Full Throttle
Maniac Mansion
Secret of Monkey Island (All the Monkey Island games)
Baldurs Gate
Police Quest 1-3
Lemmings
I didn't have a lot but I really enjoyed 'Hover' which was for Windows 95 I think. I wish there was a Mac version of it though.
I also had one called 'Myst' which was more interactive and involved solving puzzles but i don't think I ever completed it.
CLAW
jesus christ, most of those games would scream on a celeron 400mhz...
Half Life 1/2
Jedi Knight II: Outcast
Mobil 1 Rally
GTA3-SA
others. my computer left gaming status years ago, but there have been loads.
if you like driving sims and wanna get a wheel GT Legends is incredible, very difficult and requires mods since its a 97 era game, but the driving/physics model is incredible|
Yeah - I haven't really cared for the majority of PC games released since about the mid 90's.
hrm. i shall check out some of these.
and had completely forgotten about Half-Life 2.
i destroyed the first part (on PS2), and was always pissed about the guy in the suit and what happened next. time to find out.
Sim City 2000
Sim City 3000
first one sucked, and #4 is too hard
Final Fantasy VII
HL2 is a great game m8 - you'll love it.

ooooh Far Cry!
ive only played the xbox version, but that game is beautiful and fun|
Fallout 1 & 2
Planescape Torment
i've also destroyed every single GTA game since GTA3 on my PS2 in about 2 weeks each. my social life suffers every time a new one comes out. it is just 2 weeks, but i will talk to no one until i pwn the game. it becomes my only focus...
Freedom Fighters...little known, but it runs on my p3 800 so youll be fine...its not too difficult but loads of fun nonetheless|

dudes... read the post.
i now have a good computer. no need to consider it running well on a shitty processor. i'm just looking for titles i would have missed anyways.
furthermore, i tried Diablo. i think it sucks. Diablo II any better?
Diablo 2 is more of the same.
Counter-Strike (still way better than all the new versions)
Starcraft
Knights of the old Republic 1 & 2 are fantastic games.
FEAR is also one to check out.
Oh, and get Oblivion...you'll never finish it. :O
I just got done playing through Jade Empire - that's a great game done very much in the style of the KotOR games (heh, same devs >.>).
And how is it possible that people have never played Diablo 2 in this day and age?
Jade Empire was one of my all-time biggest disappointments in gaming history - not because it was bad, but because it was so fucking short.
Game was over in like 10 minutes.
unreal tournament 99!!!!
about 9 months ago i finished playing need for speed most wanted.. and was stuck for another game to play.. and just on the offchance of some remote pleasure got ut99... had played it before... but anyways installed.. and went onto a sniper server... fell in love with it.. am now in a clan, having matches against other clans.. its brilliant really love it... great game love it for its simplicity and playability.
i honestly couldnt recommend a better old game which is A. enjoyable.. and B. dosnt have to take up every dieing second of your life

oh need for speed porsche unleashed.
best racing game that doesnt require addl peripherals|
got both NfS: PU and the original UT.
i always got pissed at UT though, cuz i managed to beat all the levels of the tournament except the final ones in Deathmatch where you battled the cyborgs. fast ass mother******s. i would actually just shoot rippers against the walls randomly and hope for a headshot sometimes...
