Getting 1st Car...want help
So I have yet to have a need for a car until now. I know jack squat about cars. There is this 1991 Black Mercedes 190e for sale for 1,500. It has no antenna, the sun roof is broken, and it has a boat load if mileage, however a new transmission. I know it looks like an old man wennie so is there anyway wit this car for me to put a body kit, and LED lights and a spoiler ect on it? Also random but are LED lights under cars legal in CA? I've looked around but I cant get a 100% answer.
PS the car in the picture is different from the one i'm looking at.
how much room is there in the back seats? legroom, head room,
I wouldn't recommend buying one of those.
My first car was a 190E, and the repair costs are just a joke because of the rareness of parts.
Each service was costing me a minimum of $1000 dollars, and I even had one big bill of $3000.
Putting aside the the high repair cost, they are great cars. Very safe and very comfortable.
What's the mileage by the way? When I got hold of mine it had done about 250,000km as I remember, or 156,000 miles.
I really dont know how much room and such there is in it but im guessing it is on the small side but looking at the picture..and mileage i really dont know but its a lot....i can tell you that much...can you guys recommend some cars to me that are good out there for me to look around for....and they must be cheap and no old man looking

Yes, having a gay looking car IS an illegal on-road distraction. If you think a girl will ride your cock 'cus u got a double decker (or is it called 2-story) spoiler, it's a dead wrong assumption, unless you're hoping to hook up with some 14 years old ADHD middle schoolers at an Harry Potter convention. just get the car, learn the rules of the road. Within a year, you'll have a better car to work on and impress the ladies with. Maybe it will even come with a GT-R badge on the back! First cars are SUPPOSED to be shitty, don't spend more money than needed on it. |

| Originally posted by Beat Blog I agree. Perhaps not a Corolla in particular, but buy a car, or at least a brand of car, that is very common in your country. Toyota/Hyundai/Chevy?/Dodge? Are dodge and chevy even common? Yes, if you buy a Hyundai or something like that, it's not the coolest car in town, but you'll be laughing when your repairs cost a quarter of everyone else's, and your running costs are simply spare change. |

| Originally posted by Beat Blog I got another quote; it's at another shop until the end of the week. If you remember correctly, the original clowns were quoting $8000. The second guy thinks it's the sensor chip that monitors the transmission and controls the changes, not the transmission itself. He's quoted $1000. |
Yeah, well that's just a bit of a difference huh.| quote: |

sorry to break it to you, you fucking dumbass russian, but a 20 year old luxury car IS NO LONGER FUCKING LUXURY.
+1 for the "I'm considering a Golf GTI" brigade. Prob gonna go have a look at one this week, only problem is all my mates who I'd take as a second opinion are out of town.
I also considered the Megane R26, a little different and also much faster and more involving to drive than the Golf but a harder ride (they were engineered from the start to be a hard core hot hatch, so impeccable handling and an LSD but hard hard ride), however their AUD price got released while I was away and they're a good 5000 more than the Golf. Thats crazy cos in the UK they're 2000 pounds ($5000) less than the Golf. With that price difference you'd go the Golf every time.
yeah R32 is here.
i recommend getting a dependable, inexpensive car and putting a good stereo in it.

Avoid anything european for awhile, once they break down (and they do break down eventually) you get skinned alive for parts and servicing, being it's your first car, you're also going to crash it into things and it tends to be twice as costly for everything. The Honda Civic's, Nissan Pulsars, Toyota Corollas and the like are good cars for what they are and relatively cheap to fix, break and they'll go at least twice as fast as you actually need to kill yourself in them.
After you've managed to wreck it, settle down a bit and have a little more sense on the road, get something good.
