Gabriel & Dressden - Toolroom Knights Volume 2

in between making andain albums and touring like the beatles we managed to squeak out a mix compilation. it all started back in march when toolroom records asked us to perform with label owner mark knight and d.ramirez at the ministry of sound in london. it was such a spectacular night, mark asked us to mix the next toolroom knights comp at the winter music conference. how could we say no?

we spent a couple of weeks in italy last month at a secluded farm in tuscany. this is where we mixed the 2 cd's. in the spirit of albums like sasha's involver, we chose to spend some time and re-do some of the tracks to make them fresh and fit into our style.

there will be both a physical cd release and a digital internet only release. the internet release will have a different cd 2. release date is set for Oct 20th. below are the tracklistings

I may be immature.. but the name Toolroom Knights makes me laugh..

Thank God "Tracking Treasure Down" made it on this release... I'm still waiting with great anticipation to hear this newly released monster!

Actually I think Tijs played that exact remix on his past Club Life show... it was okay but I'm just a bit over the lyrics of TTD by this point.

And what's with the physical vs. internet differences... make it easy and cheap for us to get the same thing one way or the other!

While there are oh so many thing about that tracklist that make me wonder how anyone, anywhere, ever asked this fellows to do this compilation, there is one area in particular that stands out to me as a "What the fuck?" moment that perhaps no others can compare to:

What. The. Fuck.

I'll listen for the lulz.

Supposedly some people are calling the King Roc dub of GFM "minimal trance". Aheh heh hooooooooooo

This looks arbitrary and awful.

One DJ from Zimbabwe. I'm not kidding. He's a TA too, afaik.

As for the mix comp, it looks really atrocious. WTF at some of the tunes and their placing.

I'm just interested in the new G&D tracks on there.

Barf-O-Rama

How either of those chuckleheads thought it was a good idea to draw the "Involver" comparison themselves is beyond me as well.

Way to set yourself up for failure right from the get-go.

Epic Lulz

Posted by Clovis on Aug-09-2007 22:30:

That is one of the most horrible tracklists I have seen all year.

Either play a bunch of cheese or get to work finding good music but don't butcher relatively good tracks like this

I feel bad for people like Apparat and Stephen Bodzin having their tracks on this CD.

I thought it was a typo in the thread title.

My head assplode.

edited for the lulz.

Every time I look at this tracklist I get even more repulsed.

Posted by ibizzzaaa on Aug-10-2007 06:03:

What a gay name for the compilation. I wish I made music and G&D would ask me to allow them to release my track on their compilation, just so that I would have the pleasure of telling them to fuck off.

This is funny because the Beatles didn't really tour that much. From the end of 1966 to 1970 they were a studio-only band.

lol at that video. and not only because dave dresden is showing off his pot stash, but because he sounds like an absolute idiot in that video. makes me wonder who does most of the production work in that duo. he probably just gets baked and says, "yeah josh, that sounds great maaaannn.."

edit: btw, bumped because this tracklist looks horrendous.

Let me tell you something; I smoke, a lot. Hell, I'm smoking right now to be honest with you, but frankly, no amount of pot the whole world over could possibly be responsible for something like Dave Dresden.
