ATL TA Meetup - Sat., Aug. 25th, 6-9 PM - Midcity Cafe
After much ado, we have secured a venue for the Summer 2007 Atlanta TA meetup! The event will be held Saturday, August 25th from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Midcity Cafe. (New flyer -- see below.) What's even better is that if the event goes well, the venue owner would like to turn it into a monthly event! 
The way we are going to arrange the line-up is that there will be 6 half-hour time slots available that anyone can sign up to spin during. I will keep the line-up up-to-date in my subsequent post. The slots will be given away on a first-come, first-serve basis. To sign up for a time slot, please send me a PM with the following information:

6:00 - 6:45: DJ Funktion [Deep House and Funky House] (TA Name: Dojomaster26)
6:45 - 7:30: Eric Ramsaier [Trance & Breaks] (TA Name: DJ_Eric)
7:30 - 8:15: Javier Orraca [Tech House] (TA Name: iwantmorejavier)
8:15 - 9:00: Chris Basiliere [Progressive House] (TA Name: DJChrisB)

It looks like I might NOT have my gig in Hickory on the 25th, so I might be able to hang out for the whole event!
I'm looking forward to have a good time and meet some TAs in two weeks

Nice job on the flyer! The only thing I would do is change the TBD text when the event gets closer (maybe extend everyone's sets to 45-minutes if no one else signs up?), and put something on there about the (lack of) cover.
Eric: I know that feeling Unfortunately my first public gig was at a rather shady Top40 Club that I'd soon forget...
Yeah, I'm hoping that we'll get two more people to sign up to spin. The event is still 10 days away. If not, we'll make adjustments to the schedule.
As for the cover charge, this is a free event.

The line-up has been updated. Mike (DJ Funktion) has another gig that night, so he's going first.
If you want to spin at the event, please let me know ASAP. If no one else signs up, I'll just give the 4 DJ's already signed up a longer time slot.
no can do.... no fresh chooneg on my side. plus im in debt to javi and my parents so i cant buy all my chooneg.

Wow! In the last couple days, there have been a ton of requests from folks wanting to DJ at this event! After talking to them, since the event is this weekend, they would prefer to DJ at our event next month.
So, for this event, we're going to stick with 4 DJ's to give everyone more time to spin and have the mixes flow better. (Updated flyer above with revised lineup.) But, the good news is that we will already have enough DJ's to fill up the roster for our next event.
We would really like to make this a monthly event, so please bring as many of your friends as possible. The more we pack this place out, the better chance we have at making a business case for a recurring event in a prime time slot.
