Unhappy The Keep in key while tempo changes button? In Traktor 3

I've used this a couple of times... it makes the music sound just a little tiny bit weird on low bit rate stuff... or that could just be my imagination. Any tips on when or when not to use this?

It sounds weird even if the bitrate is high. Especially on low frequencies.

Listen to "Fine Taste - More Grey Than Blue", for example. That buzzy bassline gets completely screwed up when the master tempo is used.

I've pretty much stopped using it unless I'm really going extreme on the pitch change (like more than 4%).

it sounds ok but only when you keep it within +/- 2% or whatever. can't deviate from the original tempo too much is what i mean. also it never seems to stay in time when you have key lock on.. meh.

Well if it's around the 5/5.5% mark you may as well move it up that extra .5% and move it up a key.

When it's at 2/3% it makes the tune sound really flat/sharp though... so I'll take your advice in those situations.

I usually try to make the tune sound as original as possible... if I move it up at 2/3% most people won't take notice... but beyond that, the track can sound weird...especially if there are vocals to sound chipmunky. So I just leave it off unless I'm doing an extreme jump but want to fit a particular song into a more uptempo mix.
